Jailed but you have a key
Nice place with interesting history. Very affordable with breakfast. Clean. Friendly staff. Sleeping was a bit difficult lots of sirens during my stay as well as early morning construction accros the way. But for the experience worth the stay.

Very nice place! Staff is very welcoming , well Informed of the history of the place , don’t remember the name of the guy but the British guy when the extra mile with the place information . The breakfast is excellent and the area very clean . I see myself going again .

I enjoyed my last stay at Saintlo. It's a very unique opportunity to stay in a refurbished jail. It's kinda nice that a building that symbolized violence and exclusion has now been reimagined to provide a shelter for different kinds of people.....

Once in a lifetime experience sleeping in a former jail! I would highly recommend taking the tour they offer every day at 11am. The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. It is really close to rideau center (shopping) and byward market

I can not believe I paid the same price as a normal hotel for a dirty place smelling of urine and echoing any noise anyone makes. I really regret my mistake and spent a horrible night there.

If you are female select a jail cell where you have only one other person in the room with you.That side of the hostel is female only not congested quiet and cleaner.If you are unlucky and find yourself in a mixed dorm insist on a room with curtains for your own sanity.The all female rooms with 8 people or more are to be avoided because there is just one shower and toilet unless you do not mind going to a different floor to have your shower.They have modern cubicles made of wood instead of curtains not the best if you are claustrophobic and it is a wooden box with no place to hang anything like your towel and in case of emergency like fire quite scary.The free breakfast is ok but need to improve on bagel quality and the toaster does not really toast the bread just warms it up.

If you are female make sure you stay in the jail cell where you have only one other person .That side is cleaner and quieter.If you find yourself in the mixed dorm insist on a room with curtains for your own sanity.The all female rooms where there is 8 people are to be avoided.There is only one shower for three rooms each with 8 females it was not fun waiting for a shower.Settle for the 10 people dorm there is at least 3showers.The modern cubicles where you are literally in a cube made of wood instead of curtains terrified me .Am claustrophobic and not sure what happens if there is a fire
