"Legasea," Old Florida Beachfront Charm with Two Screen Porches, Sleeps 7

From the moment you walk into Legasea at St. Teresa, you’ll feel the weight of the world lifted off your shoulders. Located far from crowds and commercialization between the small fishing towns of Carrabelle and Panacea, this is a haven to truly get away from it all. Whether upstairs or downstairs, you'll sigh when you open the wide French doors to truly awe-inspiring views. The entire house is decorated with a soothing color palette and charming eclectic style.
This beachfront duplex home is right on the Gulf of Mexico, although on Google Maps it appears farther back away from the water.
It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and sleeps 7. You can choose to dine at the spacious kitchen counter, at the table by the windows opening to the breeze, or climb the stairs to the upper screen porch to enjoy the spectacular views with your dinner.
You can watch the sun rise from the king sized bed in the master bedroom, which connects to the screen porch and to the master bathroom.
The second upstairs bedroom contains a queen bed and a set of twin bunkbeds. The third bedroom, which contains a queen size bed, is downstairs next to the second bathroom. Beautifully decorated in ocean colors, both bedrooms enjoy gorgeous natural light.
Surrounded by beauty such as this, you’ll want to spend time just sitting and staring and taking it all in. Or lie in the hammock and gaze up at the tall pines as the gentle lap of the waves lulls you into a much-needed nap. Go a few more steps to your own beach deck with chairs and umbrella. Collect shells and explore living sea animals as you stroll the beach from Grassy Point to Stingray Point. Go fishing or cast a net off the dock or scoop up some blue crabs. Use the two kayaks provided to explore the area by water.
If you find you can’t entirely tear yourself away from the TV, the family room provides a Smart TV and DVD player with a variety of family movies. There is an additional TV and DVD player upstairs in the master bedroom. Internet is provided, although it may be slow on the Florida Panhandle.
St. Teresa is right on the Gulf of Mexico, but is protected by a sandspit which extends from Alligator Point, so the waves are always gentle. This makes it perfect for swimming, fishing, kayaking, and beachcombing. On a natural beach on the “Forgotten Coast” of the Gulf of Mexico far from crowds and commercialization, the area around St. Teresa provides one of the most diverse eco-systems in North America. You may see dolphins, manatees, the exotic local white squirrels, and even the occasional Florida black bear, not to mention every kind of shore bird you can imagine.
Legasea is located within the Bay North gated community of St. Teresa, which contains its own swimming pool, tennis courts, and plenty of open space in which the kids can play if they tire of the beach. The children’s laughter as they play outside all day will take you back to when this was “Camp Weed,” a summer church camp.
When you visit Legasea, you’ll know that you’re in a truly unique place, and will understand why St. Teresa has been the most beloved spot in the world for generations of families.

Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned vacation home, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. There's a private balcony. A Smart television and a DVD player are provided for your entertainment, while complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

God’s Special Beach
It was magical. I grew up on this beach but had not been back in 50 years. It was still so beautiful, so memorable. Legates was unbelievably gorgeous. Everywhere you looked there was something unique - stunning oil paintings, painted furniture, even a “sandalier.” Everything needed was there. It was a truly perfect place to spend Christmas week with friends.

Family Getaway
This property is beautiful. It is everything that the host described and more. We had our grandkids ages 17, 14, and 10 with us. They spent hours paddling in kyacks provided by our host we also brought a paddle board. The water is calm which makes it perfect for these activities. We also loved fishing off the community pier at sunset. We definitely will be back.

Beautiful Secluded Retreat
This property was perfect for our family. My teen has special needs that makes anything with crowds hard for him to handle. It was our first time in Florida for spring break so we were worried about how busy anything on the beach would be. We chose this house based on its proximity to the beach, location and the cleanliness reviews and we were not disappointed! I love how the house was decorated with southern coastal vibes and that it had all the extra items that were included for activities. It was a long drive for us but definitely worth it!

Feels like your own family cottage!
Let me start by saying I have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals, for many years. I like the homey feel over hotels. But most feel “staged”. Not this one. The home is filled with love, history and family. Beautifully decorated, like you would do if it was your home. Once you get past the feel of the home it has everything you need even things like sugar for my tea, coffee pods, nice soaps, tp, pots, pans, kitchen utensils…Everything. All the fun stuff too, kayaks, beach chairs, tons of board games. But even with the weather cooler what we loved the most was listening to the waves crashing on the beach, watching the dolphins every morning, sunsets and star gazing… every night. All of this right from the balcony’s (screened porches) and the beach deck chairs. The neighborhood has tennis courts, pool and a fishing pier. It’s a bit of a drive to get to a major grocery store (20-25 min) and 10-15 min to little stores and restaurants. Fine for us we stocked up on day one and grabbed extras while we were out for touring or dinner. But it’s not a place you can plan to walk up to shop and ice cream. Not what we were looking for,so again, great for us. The owners messaged to us know they were available if we needed them but didn’t bug us. We went on a great fishing trip with captain Dustin Fyshhunter Charters. Booked thru fishingbooker. The gulf specimen aquarium is well worth the $15 to get in. We Love everything about it and have already recommended Legasea to friends!

Great place for a secluded beach stay
Lovely house with many amenities and quick responsiveness from owner. The beach was great for walking and looking at beach creatures; we saw so many hermit crabs and lots of pretty shells. We even saw a manatee from the pier. The water is very calm, so may not be the best if you want to play in the waves, but perfect for not worrying about a wave knocking a toddler over.

Our stay...
The property was wonderful, well stocked with every amenity imaginable for a beach stay. However, not being completely aware of the amount of seaweed, in and out of the water(this beach is not cleaned)was disappointing. With the seaweed came what may have been the most bugs I have ever seen in one place. We are all completely covered in horrible bites, miserable, and really sad as this almost ruined our vacation. By the way , the only week we get for a year. Our children would not come out after the first day, they are older, but still... and if you are lookibg for a stay that includes any area activities, this place is not for you. There is literally nothing but the water. As I said, the home is lovely, beds are amazing, well stocked, very clean, and an amazing view.

Perfect beach house on the perfect beach
If you’re looking for another busy beach town with lots of stuff to do and people everywhere —this is not it! This is where you go to truly enjoy time with your family and friends. This is where you go to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation: a natural soft white sand beach (even when it’s loaded with seaweed), wildlife of all kinds -in and out of the water, and the best thunderstorms I’ve ever seen. Nothing is better than relaxing on the deck under the tall pines and palms while your children are splashing through the water or making a sandcastle or finding little critters in the sand. This coast may be forgotten, but we found it and it was wonderful!!!

Relaxing beach getaway
Legasea has everything we needed for a relaxing, enjoyable week in Florida’s “forgotten coast.” We spent so much time just sitting on the front porches (yes, there are 2!) overlooking the ocean, listening to the waves, and luxuriating in the fresh ocean breezes. We’re already trying to schedule our next visit!!

Great Place to Relax
This is a wonderful home in a peaceful setting. There is plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking. The screened porches are wonderful. The hammock and porch swing were favorites. We had cloudy weather and no wind, so no waves really at all. This not a big beach, big waves place. My group enjoyed fishing and tried out the kayaks. Relaxing was the preferred activity!

BEST. VACATION. EVER
We are definitely making this our yearly vacation! This stay was amazing! My kids loved getting to kayak! The fishing off the pier was the best, and we even had locals giving us tips on how to catch more! Everyone we encountered was so kind! The beach is gorgeous, calm and almost completely private, sometimes we were the only ones out there. The proximity of the house to the beach is so convenient and we loved it! The enclosed porches are wonderful! We ate nearly every meal on the upstairs porch! It was such a treat to have that view while you enjoyed a meal! We even played board games out there! The house is updated, beautiful and spacious. Everything about this trip was perfect and we would highly recommend this location!

Relaxing, peaceful family vacation
This property is in a rustic and quiet part of FL unknown to most people. The bay beach is very natural with no high-rise condos or glitz. There are many beautiful birds, tall trees and marshes. You can view sunrises and spectacular sunsets. There are many shells with living sea life. We saw dolphins and even a black bear cub crossing the road in front of our car at night. The owners are very nice and accessible. We would definitely like to go back there in the future.

Rest & rejuvenation
We couldn’t have asked for a better stay! Starting with our booking, Lale made sure we had all the information about the area and property! We were looking to get away from the hustle of typical tourist towns like Panama City! This was the place!! I think we saw a handful of people, but essentially we had the beach to ourselves. This was the solitude we wanted- to enjoy each other’s company, play games, eat, and drink the drinks! Lots of bathing suits and pajamas! Legasea was amazing! We spent countless hours rocking on the porch, singing silly songs! Big for a group! We ate dinner at the table! Plenty of space in the well stocked kitchen! The bathrooms have been updated and there are enough personal touches to make you feel like you are staying at a dear friends house! The host really should pull her writings into a book! Spent time on the couch reading her experiences and how the house came to be! There are a couple of state parks close to check out- if you like continued solidarity and quiet! We did travel into Carabelle! Cute little town with a great sandwich shop. So, there are a few things to get you out and about. But, really, there is no real reason to go! If you like to be in the mad rush of people and stuff and go out to eat every night- this won’t be your spot! If you need a break from life- Legasea IS your place!

Great location for a family vacation
Great location for a family getaway in a secluded location but close enough for excursions for eating out. Beach toys and kayaks for adults & kids right on the gulf was one of my favorites. An early morning paddle observing nature was my favorite and sitting on the deck, porch or great room with a book completed a memorable time.

Magic!
We had the best time. 6 women, 5 paddle boards, 2 kayaks (at property), 4 yoga matts, lots of books, coffee, frozen drinks, seafood and dominoes. What am amazing place to reconnect with friends that we have knows for 40 years! We took a few trips over to Alligator point on the SUPS and kayaks. We did a half day trip with Capt Tom on his catamaran and saw lots of dolphins. We spent lots of chatting and laughing time on both screened decks. This place was magical. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed. The owner is very available and responsive. I hope we will be able to come back again!
