the "pre-packaged" Breakfast was "convenient" but really the kind of breakfast available in a convenience store at a petrol station. Packaged food swee4t bun, a stale and dry orange (inedible), decent Yoghurt, mediocre coffee in a box for each guest, and no interior dining room (just outdoor terrace too cold for comfort. But the location is SUPERB, overlooking the lake and A SPACIOUS terrace balcony facing the site of one of the most crucial battles of the American Revolution that stopped the British invasion of Lake Champlain and helped ensure American vistory at Saratoga the foloiwing year.
I loved the easy people free check in. We didn’t see a soul the entire stay. Beautiful covered porch off of the room overlooking Lake Champlain. Coffee, tea and snacks right outside the door.

Disliked: Room comfort
Disappointing
This room has a 100% view of the parking lot, no partial lake view.
The bed is uncomfortably soft.
The shower door doesn't close well enough to keep the water from the bathroom floor.
It's a lovely setting but not good value overall.
Beautiful location right on the water, neat old inn

This is unique, well kept, historic property with all of the modern amenities. We attended a wedding of a family member over the Labor Day weekend. Views are stunning, facility in very good condition, quiet, and easily reached, via rail, air or car.
The wedding food was good, but again cooking in a boathouse has to be a challenge. All in all it was a fabulous venue for a large gathering.
Valcour Inn was an unexpected gem. The waterfront property with gorgeously maintained grounds was a wonderful place to relax and recharge. With only a few rooms it was always peaceful and quiet. I have no plans in that immediate area but will go again just to stay at this establishment
Great location to relax and unwind. Both the Inn and its surroundings are kept in very good condition.
Unfortunately, it is not meant for travellers without an internet or phone connection, as there is no personnel to greet you upon arrival. We struggled with the access code, as we did not receive instructions prior to our arrival. Luckily, the boathouse was open and we got help from them.
There was dust, lint and dead bugs in the room. Not a big deal for us, but worth mentioning so management can take action. The mornings become noisy, as the cleaning staff start early their activities. Adjustment to these observations would make for a great place to stay.
Beautiful property, clean and comfortable room. It is a historic building, so there is not a lot of toiletry space. We loved the availability of water and coffee and ice at all hours, that was a wonderful amenity, and you could not beat the view! Just gorgeous! Close drive to Ausable Chasm (why we were there) and to many restaurants. Would definitely stay again! Thank you!
I had amazingly comfortable time at the Valcour Inn and Boathouse. This is the first time that I stayed at a property where I had zero interaction with a property employee. At first a was a bit hesitant because I thought, what if I need something? I didn’t need anything. Everything I wanted was there for me and I slept like a baby every night.
The stay itself was fine… it was dealing with hotels.com that was absolutely terrible!! I couldn’t get into my room for more than an hour… conversed with two different “virtual agents” who were essentially worthless… one gave me a nine digit code to get into the room… didn’t work.. the second sent me two emails confirming my stay… worthless!! Thankfully there was a maintenance man that saw me fretting about getting into the room and he offered his help and got the code needed to get into the room … which happened to be 4 digits, not 9!! I will never use hotels. I’m again to reserve a room for lodging. This Inn has no staff at the site. And did not respond to either of my two phone calls concerning not being able to get into room. And the hotels.com app couldn’t connect to site, so really is worthless!
The property was great! Peaceful location. Our intention had been to hike and found ourselves to be a bit further from the Adirondack hiking trails than we thought. Not much going on in Plattsburgh in the evenings. Seemed everything closed early.
