The hotel is not 4 stars, unfortunately. There are many small issues which mount up.
Positive:
– The staff are professional and courteous, which makes a notable difference throughout your stay.
– Breakfast was nice and plentiful.
– Roof-top bar has incredible sunset views.
Negatives:
– “High speed internet” supports speeds of no more than 10Mbps, and sometimes much less. Practically this means even finding somewhere to eat through Google Maps is difficult, never mind movie streaming. It was very infuriating.
– I had to double check on my booking that I did pay extra for a superior room as it was very basic. No kettle, tea, or milk in the room, only a coffee machine and complementary bottled water.
– Cleanliness was an issue. Stained curtains and bed sheets, dusty bathroom, dirt on the tiles, and bad odour
– Throughout the hotel, there were many things which were broken or poorly maintained.
1. In the room the toilet seat and bath were scuffed, the shower head with some stains on, the shower leaked all over the floor, a noticeable lack of soundproofing around the room door which was visible through a light gap (I could hear people showering down the hallway).
2. In the rest of the hotel, the pool features (including the bubbles) were mainly not working or switched off. Staff didn’t know how to turn them on, and only one overhead water flow worked. The water temperature heater was turned off and I only realised after it got much hotter afterwards.
