Great motel with easy access to Cooperstown. Well maintained and cared for, can tell the owners take pride in owning the property. Access to lake Otsego is a bonus!

Fine for a quick stay
Remote motel that is quaint and on a major road in and out of town. The room itself was quiet and dark. The bathroom was in rough shape: floor tiles ripping apart, uneven floor from water damage, and lacked thorough cleanliness.

Biggest complaint was that it’s a very smoker-friendly property. I selected a non-smoking room, and there was an ash tray outside my room, the room smelled musty and like stale smoke, and in order to walk anywhere on the property you have to walk past a dozen guests all smoking all over the place. If it weren’t for this, I’d say this is a quaint little motel near the water and it’s nice that they offer paddle boards and a swim area for guests. Coffee maker in the bathroom also seems unsanitary, it’s a nice thought to provide a coffee maker to guests though but I’m not using one that’s been sitting in a bathroom for who knows how long..

Nice find on the lake.
Enjoyed this motel. Right on the lake about 6 miles fromthe village of Cooperstown which was perfect. The room was very nice and clean. The only slight problem we had was the people above us were constantly talking and moving around. The walls were pretty thin and woke us up in the early morning,. But the stay was very enjoyable otherwise.

Priced accordingly. We were there for summer tournament at Cooperstown Field of Dreams. 20 min drive. Dining by the lake at the Blue was great. Only complaint I have is people parking wherever they wanted instead of in front of their unit. Management said there are no assigned parking spaces. Really? Goes without saying. Otherwise, it was an ok experience.

I really liked the Lake View Motel. I haven't stayed in a motel for years! It was very clean and the grounds and lake view were pretty. It's dated, but I found that nostalgic. My son enjoyed fishing at the lake while I sat in a chair and relaxed by the water.

We had to wait until the last minute to select a property to see the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and The Lake View Motel was one of the very few available and only 5.6 miles out of Cooperstown. The support staff was very friendly. A maid cleaned the room, brought new towels and toiletries both days of our stay. The price was very reasonable considering the huge crowds of vacationing families at this time of year. Our grandson got to fish of the motel's dock, which made him very happy.

Great and Scenic Place to Stay
This place gave us a lovely stay, and all the people who worked there were friendly, cheerful, and helpful. My 10-year old relatively fussy (slightly ASD) kids LOVED this place, and missed it the next night when we were in a more traditional hotel. The workers were very helpful and kind. I was there with my husband and two kids, and they all had a great time as well- taking great advantage of the fishing while I was off seeing the opera. The room was extremely well-air-conditioned (adjustable, good working condition). Also, the ceiling fan was super-useful. We were in a hill-top room. The picnic tables were terrific, we loved the beautiful lawn and gorgeous view of the lake. We had a great and useful fridge and microwave. The internet was fantastic too. The unexpected things: the place is a bit weathered, for instance the door to our room was scuffed up, the handle was a little rattly. The bathroom did not have floor drainage so I was doing a lot of mopping up after my kids. FINAL ASSESSMENT: I loved being there mostly because my family loved being there (I spent the least amount of time there of anyone, we were there just one day and one night). Even though the room was smaller than they had anticipated (we don't usually vacation, and when we go elsewhere, it's usually a house, like an Air BnB), one of my sensitive kids in particular missed it aloud when we went to the bigger hotel chain the next day, so I believe that there is a lot of heart there.
