Disappointing stay

The resort is tired and could do with an upgrade. The pool area lacked shade for all sunbeds. The air conditioning was not working in one room and in our second was not up to the job in the summer heat. We had to have the sheets changed and the towels did not smell fresh even after we changed them. The staff were very nice but not able to change the fabric of the hotel

I had to double check what I was paying when I checked in here. It felt like I was staying in luxury that I normally cannot afford, yet this was so very affordable! The rooms are clean, we were in a studio and it was very large. The bathroom was very impressive and the patio in the back was large and comfortable. The pool area is great with a great bartending staff. The restaurant serves delicious food and the breakfast was better than I’m used to in a hotel. I would absolutely stay here again.

Great little hotel that uses nature to create a peaceful atmosphere. Food is excellent and the staff helpful but not intrusive. Very quiet at night.

The location is near an indigenous reservation, providing a quiet and safe environment. I recommend upgrading the padding on the sunbeds by the swimming pool. The breakfast was good, though I suggest offering more options for the egg dishes at the buffet.

Peaceful stay in the jungle!

Amazing place in Iguazu - it is the jungle, so adjust your expectations accordingly. WiFi is spotty at times (like streaming is unlikely to work for extended periods) but is fine for getting online. Also we went in summer (Dec) so many bugs! Bring bug spray : ) All drivers arranged by the staff were awesome and it was a beautiful property.

We enjoyed the good service. Staff went the extra mile. The lodge area is awesome and we loved the Christmas tree made from jungle wood. The jungle setting was cool. It was kinda hard to find in the dark (Google helped) and the driveway is not paved. The breakfast was good. We felt secure.

Hard to recommend

A number of things make it hard to recommend this place. We figured the shower had not been cleaned. Drinking glasses were poorly washed (old lipstick and big smudges). I know that we must expect humidity in the jungle, but our room smelled horribly musty. The pillows reaked and now that we have left, my whole suitcase and my hair smell bad. The toilet broke and overflowed on the floor. It took at least 3 hours for someone to show up to fix it as we had to complain twice at the front desk. It was our day to relax at the property and we couldn't use our washroom. No apologies whatsoever or an offer to make it right. The pool area is nice but had very merky water. Again, not very inviting and wondering about the cleanliness. On the positive side, there was a good breakfast spread. We took one lunch on site. It was expensive and nothing to rave about.

Staff provided outstanding services. It is in a quiet environment with a jungle-like set-up. Inclusion of breakfast in a buffet set-up was good with hot food items and fresh fruits. Check-in is at 2 pm; however, if you arrive early and would like to start sightseeing before check-in, the hotel has storage room where you can safely leave your luggage. I would have given all 5 stars if the digital lock of the safe deposit box in our room works and 2 complimentary bottled water have been provided each day for me and my husband during our 2-night stay.

La Aldea is a spacious property with buildings laced together with pathways through scenic jungle foliage. Every type of wood is used in fixtures and furniture. Complimentary breakfast buffet. Beautiful experience in every way.

A great stay and location to see Iguaza Falls.

I chose La Aldea on a current trip to see Iguaza Falls. I thought this was an interesting choice due to its niche of being more of a wooded lodge. I was very happy with my choice. The staff was delightful as was the swimming pool. I think a setting like this leads people to be more outgoing and it was so easy to strike up chats with people around the pool. I was also fortunate enough to have found a great taxi driver who, was so very helpful, especially getting to the Brazilian side of the Falls. I can't recommend him enough. His name is Fabioo Villalba and his email is fabioo3034@gmail.com If you are in need of a trusted driver I would strongly consider him.
