Colonial house, 3 stories suite with the bedrooms. 2 bathrooms. If you like climbing stairs, this is the one for you. Something different !
Room was extremely small but clean. Little pricey for the size of room with twin beds but it was walking distance to historical area and that was important. Unfortunately the entire hotel did have a dark ambience throughout needed new LED lights. Currently remodel is been done 4-2019 so perhaps it’s coming.
Great hotel, very traditional, feels authentic.
Horrible experience in the restaurant: slow waiter and service, having to remind her multiple times what we ordered, promising a free glass of juice that I end up paying anyway ... Very bad experience.
The place looks really nice though.

Located in a quiet street near the busy areas. Because of their layout, the rooms are very quiet and private. They are undergoing some construction so we found the room a little dusty. Be aware that once you enter your suite, you’d need to climb 2 flights of stairs to the 3rd floor.

For this price range this was a very nice looking building. The hotel is away from the street in a nice courtyard so it’s quiet. The room was huge with three levels. The continental breakfast was crispy toast bread and jam with a fruit salad, plus coffee. The location was also excellent just a few blocks in to the center of town. The only negative for this hotel was that the hot water was barely lukewarm and we were there during a cold spell.
Great location the rooms floor really sticky and dirty but a very nice room just dirty beside de hotel there is a bakery out of this world you have to try it even if you are not in the hotel!!!
Great colonial hotel. Nice and spacious suite. Ideal for a family vacation. It was being renovated at the time, and still, things worked well. Breakfast was pretty weak. Once they finish, this is likely to be an outstanding place.

Small Quiet Family Hotel.
Chose Meson del la Merced on the recommendation of a family friend. Great location in walking distance of most things in the Centro Historico area of Queretaro, and the staff was able to arrange tours for our party and other guests. Stayed three nights. Very pleasant place, with good service, and good breakfasts. Needs some maintenance and upkeep, and the Junior Suites required carrying the luggage up two flights of stairs to the bedroom, but overall, I would recommend it as a good value hotel in a quiet neighborhood.
Employees are friendly but the building is falling apart the bits are very uncomfortable there is a lot of cockroach the doors can be open by a push with a finger it is a very scary hotel
The hotel staff and owner went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The room was clean, comfortable and had character. We celebrated our 40 year wedding anniversary in Queretaro. The hotel owner made restaurant reservations for us and even arranged for a driver to and from the restaurant. At the end of our week long stay I was a little sad to leave. I will definitely stay at Meson de la Merced in the future.
Perfect location. Very old facilities. Nice look though. The room has three floors, two of them unnecessary and useless, but they charge for that. Too high the price for what you get,
Excellent location. Looks good externally. However hotel furnishings are showing their age. Only 1 of 4 staff we interacted with had minimal familiarity with English. They did not seem to know the local area, location of restaurants, or etc. No maps were available of the old town area. Breakfast consisted of 1 slice of white toast, 4 slices of banana, and some papaya. I am a tea drinker and the hotel had no black tea. We expected more based on the price we paid. If you stay here get the cheapest available room. Our deluxe room was certainly not worth the higher price we paid for it. I give the hotel an overall rating of two based on its good TV.
A hotel with a difference! - a converted 'neighborhood' building around a large patio area dating back to the 17th century where it was first used as lodgings for monks from a nearby temple/convent and then later as a 'vecindad' - a community dwelling area, housing number of local families My room was a three floor unit conversion from one of the original homes, modernized but quainit and retaining the old world charm of the neighborhood. Just 5 minutes walking distance from the historic center of Queretaro the location is ideal for visiting this interesting part of the old town and despite lots of life in the center squares and streets the hotel location is completely quiet at nights and very safe. Like most of these types of hotel there are a few details which could be improved. My shower head was caked with lime scale and needed cleaning - no big deal. The included continental breakfast - a plate of fruit, toast and coffee could be improved for children with the addition of cereals, but otherwise no major problems. The staff were courteous and friendly. Since my room could accommodate 4 individuals I'll certainly be thinking to use the hotel again for a 'tourist' weekend visit with my family. Overall a very satisfying stay.

Clean and rustic
Clean and rustic with convenient location to central historic district. Good value. Could be better on small details like small items in need of repair would give it a great quality look. A coffee maker in room would be great. Night staff was very helpful.
