We knew when we walked into the hotel we made a mistake.
Small- lobby is big enough for 2 people in line which is the same path to the restaurant, worse off is the path to the beach, which is a little gross when you’re eating. The 2 elevators fit 3 people, hallways to the rooms are narrow. the room which consists of 2 nightstands, one with a child size chair, bed and wall mounted tv. We upgraded to an oceanfront balcony room for a 7 day stay,($3400 usd) to enjoy coffee, cocktails and meals. No furniture at all except a hanging hammock. No place to sit and eat in the room except the bed.
Noise- ridiculous level of noise throughout the entire stay- cobbled stone road beneath the balconies. Motorcycles, carts, and anything else just rumbled, as well as party goers. One night laying awake like we had every night- we looked at each other and just laughed about the noise-, who would have thought.
Food- hit or miss very inconsistent
Front desk/associates mixed reviews on helpfulness/attitude
Recommendations- we originally were going to stay at the Fairmont at Copacabana Beach, but got hooked by a “pricing special by Arpoador.
Stay at one of the 30-ish great hotels at Copa and walk to Ipanema.
We tried to share our feedback with the Mgr speaking with 6 associates at the front desk over our stay- He never got back to us. I’ve traveled to 2 destinations every year for 20 years & have never written a bad review and now you know
