Do not book this hotel. They cancelled my reservation with no notification. When I arrived to check in, they told me they weren’t going to receive enough money for my stay. I could pay for the room again at a much higher rate. They were no help whatsoever! Advice: steer clear!

Booked two rooms. The only Pros are the location specially if you’re visiting Carowinds park, good pricing for last-minute bookings, good parking and acceptable cleanliness. The Cons are property bad conditions (business center with bad chairs, old elevator) and also the cleanliness of the A/C, need improvements.

Clean and quiet
We left a very noisy hotel and booked this room. It was quiet and clean. Some corners in the bathroom are a little aged, but the floor was so clean. The breakfast was also decent.

Due to storm there was no power the entire time we were in the hotel, therefor no pool use or hot breakfast items there was cold cereal fruits and muffins available. The staff did awesome considering the complete lack of power. The only real issue we encountered was our rooms booked under the same reservation were on completely different floors. After some shuffling they were able to locate us to the same floor, which kudos to staff for being able to get our new rooms amidst a power outage.

Local Carowinds Hotel
The hotel room and breakfast areas felt very out dated. And there were not many complimentary breakfast options. The AC unit in the room was pretty noisy and not very efficient, so it kicked on and off very frequently. The area around the hotel was unappealing due to the number of broken down 18 wheels and rusting trailers. The front desk and room service workers were good; offering clean towels and sheets daily throughout the stay. For those going to Carowinds, although this hotel is within walking distance there are no crosswalks to make the way there more easily accessible.

My mom and I stayed for a weekend mother daughter trip, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone! The area the hotel is in is very quiet, walkable to lots of dining options, and the staff at the front desk were very pleasant to us during the trip especially Saturday night when our keys did not work for the door. The housekeeping staff was also awesome since they maintained our rooms every day when we are used to hotels to not doing that anymore. The pool was awesome as well, if we were to ever travel back down to this area, we would definitely come back:)

Don't trust a paid and confirmed reservation
We were in a crowd at Carowinds for the fireworks and I got emails and phone calls that I of course missed that the property was "unable to honor our reservations" and that the stay was canceled. They had zero issues taking our money a month ahead of time, canceling LITERALLY at the 11th hour, leaving a family group of 8 with nowhere to stay yet here it is a week after cancellation and there is still no refund.
