We chose this hotel for its air conditioning and proximity to the Vatican and a Metro station. The good: the bed was very comfortable, the room very clean, and the staff very friendly and accommodating. They asked what we wanted for breakfast and at what time, and brought it to our room on a tray. The unfortunate: The air conditioner was loud and inefficient, the room backed onto a busy street with a street light right outside the window and only sheer curtains on the window. We had to sleep with ear plugs and eye masks. We discovered an external blind with a hidden internal control on our second day, and were able to sleep without eye masks after that (instructions on the location and operation of the blind would have been helpful). The shower was cramped, had a slippery floor, poor water flow, and no shelf or ledge for toiletries, all of which made showers challenging. The only "toiletries" provided were bottles of liquid soap attached to the wall in the shower and at the sink. There is no good place to eat in the room. We put the breakfast tray on the desk and sat at its corners with one chair and one stool. The hotel was close to a Metro stop, giving us good access to the city, but there was little of interest in the immediate area. The hotel claims to be a 14 minute walk to the Vatican Museums, but our experience was closer to a 30 minute walk (moving at a good pace, since we had timed entry tickets). All in all, not as advertised.
