I'll start off by saying the positive, which is the staff at this hotel was excellent. They're courteous, professional, and helpful, which I really appreciate. The downside about this hotel is things I don't know if they'll be able to really fix. If you book at this hotel, know that you won't have the standard amenities that you get at other Marriott hotels, which is surprising and disappointing. Also, if you want a good night's sleep, this isn't a hotel that you should choose. There is a rooftop restaurant that also acts as a bar and club. They play incredibly loud music until 1 a.m., which you can hear in your room. So if you're booking this hotel for a business trip and you need your sleep, I would pick a different hotel. The area around the hotel is convenient. It's across the street from the Riverwalk. Heads up, if you book the Riverview at this hotel, you're going to be paying extra. There is no Riverview. Literally, you have to look out at a tiny corner of the window and you'll see a sliver of the Riverwalk. You can barely see it. It's not worth paying the extra money for a basically non-existent Riverview. You'll see many reviews about this saying the same thing. Overall, the staff is excellent, but I would not return to this hotel. I would choose one of the other Marriott properties with better amenities, location, and for a more quality night's sleep.

Very Elegant

This was a very nice hotel. I booked it because my flight got canceled. It was a quick In-N-Out, but it definitely hit my radar as a signature hotel in the area.

College dorm feel

Narrow hallways , Dorm sized rooms, flat pillows, cheap mattresses, ( woke up with sore and stiff back because I tossed and turned all night trying to get comfortable.) no closet. Definitely did not like the set up of this room, Horrible experience.

We reserved a king room but were told that there were no king rooms available when we arrived. After what seemed like a contentious negotiation we were finally offered a king room by management? The room smelled like mildew. The tub did not drain. There were toe nail clippings on the area rug. Proximity to the River Walk was good but not right on the River Walk. Very disappointed overall

Noise Alert

I was looking to relax and enjoy my stay, unfortunately that was not my experience. Room 1814 is located next to the elevators, this fact made it impossible to get a good night's rest, the constant noise made it very difficult to enjoy my stay. Furthermore, at check in, the desk representative ran my debit card twice charing me $300.00 for incidentals, this, basically allows the hotel to keep that money for 3 to 5 days. I will not be staying at this property in the future, the InterContinental just down the street its a much better option.
