The room was modern and large with no carpeting - Hooray! However, the bathroom door is a sliding door which doesn't close completely. If you are using the bathroom, the person lying in bed close to the back of the room can see you inside the bathroom - showering (which is fine) but doing your business - not so fine. Additionally, the pet fee is $50 per day! Maybe at a 5 star hotel with a nice pet area, I would pay that but this is a beach hotel - and you are using the sidewalk grass along a busy main street bordered by a main freeway. It was an unpleasant surprise. All Staff members were very accommodating and extremely helpful and pleasant.

I LOVED how soft the mattress was especially after a long day at the beach!!. Very cute for the price I’ll definitely be coming back! Everything is also a very close drive!

Cute lottle boutique hotel! Small and quaint. Manager is si sweet! Beds are a little soft and saggs in the middle, but overall we loved it!

We had a terrible stay at Surfbreak Hotel. Upon entering our room we could see visible mold and water damage on the ceiling, and in the bathroom on the wall. We requested a different room due to the uninhabitable circumstances and they were unable to change our room. We cancelled the rest of our stay but I have yet to be reimbursed or compensated at all. The office staff is unable to refund our stay, and they said I need to contact the manager. Upon many phone calls, voicemails and messages, I received one call back and the issue has yet to be resolved and we have not been refunded for any of our stay. I tried to handle the issue with the hotel before leaving any reviews but considering they have not done anything to remedy the issue of their uninhabitable room conditions, as well as costing us a lot of time and extra money to move our family vacation, I am now leaving a review. Would not recommend at all. The rooms have appeared to be somewhat remodeled but there are bigger issues than what shows in photos.

I will absolutely be making a point to come back to Surfbreak in the future. Everything from checking in, finding a room assignment that worked for me and my partner, and even getting restaurant recommendations was stupendous. The staff is incredible, I absolutely adore the lot of them. They ensured that we had a good, quiet room with a lot of privacy - and in general the other patrons were awesome to talk to. The overall vibe of the people around this place was great. Nice and great temperament. Also, this place is less than 2 miles away from the beach! There is a park nearby for easy access as well. Whenever I'm in San Clemente again, I will absolutely prioritize Surfbreak. Very memorable place, in a great location.

The Wi-Fi wasn’t always working, I would like to see somebody at the front desk the hours the doors said it would be instead having to call a number and then wait for them to show up at the facility. We were fortunate to get parking each time we went out.

The property was amazing! Just a couple of blocks from the center of town. But about a 3 min ride to the beach. Was totally surprised on how big the room was and modern. Toiletries were fabulous snd we also purchased some on-line. Loved the outside patio, felt so homey. Felt extremely secure where it is located. That was the #1 priority. The owner takes so much pride in The Surfbreak and is extremely wonderful!! We will definitely be back!!! Stay here you will LOVE IT ❤️. You have your home, away from home!!! Lynn

The floors and rugs were not very clean. My bare feet, which were clean, quickly became dirty from walking on the carpet and flooring.

I absolutely loved staying at this hotel . Staff was friendly and went above and beyond to help me out. I recommend this hotel . Area is great , the room was exceptionally clean . I loved the decoration and safety of the rooms .
