Cigarettes smell in the room. I complained to the front desk, and they were not helpful at all and kept denying the issue. AC wasn't working (they fixed it after complaints). Front desk was not helpful at all.

The hotel was clean the staff was good. My room smelled like tobacco, a bit disconcerting since it was non smoking. Perhaps leftover Smokey smell . Should get rid of if they can. The hotel did suit my needs and it was comfy

Stayed here for 2 nights. The room was very clean and the walls seem decently thick as I never heard any noise from the hallway or surrounding rooms. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Didn’t have the time to use the pool during my stay but it looked clean and well kept. Parking was free which is always a plus in California and Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo is a short 10 minute drive away and has some great shopping and eating options. Cons: the bed was a bit hard and it was difficult to get the room to stay at a comfortable temperature.

I recently had heart surgery and it is now difficult to carry heavy objects up stairs. A member of the staff knew this because of a casual conversation I had had with him about it about a few weeks prior. Before my most recent stay here I received a phone call from this same staff member asking me which type of room I would prefer and that he was making sure it was on the first floor. I was so impressed with his consideration and kindness. It was courteous, professional, and thoughtful. This hotel has won my loyalty many times over :)

Bird watching trip
We stayed here as it was central to most of places we were visiting. We had a very spacious room, the beds were great, slept very well. The pool was a welcome surprise as I didn’t notice it had a pool when I booked, made use of it several times. Considering how busy it was, it was lovely and quite.
