We booked and paid for a room online indicating that we would arrive late that evening (after 12am). Hotel called around 10pm and the lady was extremely rude saying that we had to notify them of our late arrival. When I mentioned I did (apart from the note we left on our reservation I also called at 9:30 to verbally confirm and they didn’t answer) she demanded to know when we would arrive, to which I replied by 1am. She said to call or ring the service bell then hung up. When we arrived before 1, we tried calling 3 times, and rang the service bell. We called a fourth time and the same lady picked up and when I said we were there to check in she hung up. We waited and no one came to the desk. We were left to find another hotel at 1 am and ended up having to drive back to SLO and pay for another room. I called the next morning to complain and the same person tried to deny that I had called and then said I had to take up the issue with management for a refund. Expedia also reached out on our behalf and our claim was denied. For a small town motel, this is absolutely unacceptable. Not only has this experience tainted our time in Morro Bay but we will be sure to never return to this motel.
