This hotel is really conveniently located to downtown Carp and the ocean, about a 10 minute walk either direction. And it was super affordable, especially travelling with a dog. But it was really noisy with doors shutting and whatnot all night, and the bed was really uncomfortable. We slept very little over 2 nights and won't be staying again, even at the great price.

Best beach town in Southern California
We’ve stayed in this hotel on and off for 15 years. We’re always up here looking to buy a home for retirement goals.
My dog loves Carpentaria too.
A very dog friendly hotel with lots of space to walk your dog.

An unclean room was provided at 11pm and we were denied another room as the hotel was fully booked. It wasn't checked out from the previous guests.

Overall the stay was great ! Had made a one night stay for 2 and our dog. I'm glad to say that all Motel 6 locations allow your fur babies to stay free with you. The area was good, it was near by places to go eat and head to the beach. Loved how the front desk rep asked where would we like to have our room, we picked facing the pool since its near by a freeway that can get quiet noisey. We also had forgotten our toothbrush and toothpaste and asked the front desk and they were able to supply us with some. The only downfall is that they don't have an iron so you'd have to bring your own.

Clean room with contemporary decor and a surprisingly comfortable bed for a Motel 6. Definitely at the top end of the quality range for Motel 6 properties I've stayed at.

Power outage
The power was out for an extended amount of time. No heat or ac no light. The poor front desk lady was bundled up in tons of layers and had a glow stick as a source of light. She was incredibly sweat and nice but driving up at 11PM and the whole hotel being dark is terrifying. We got up to our room with our flashlights and got into our room which was extremely cold and the blankets provided were super thin and not helpful with heat so my wife and I had to sleep with our clothes on.

It was convenient stop over on our trip to L.A. The friendly person in reception took into consideration that we wanted to park the park in a front of the room. The property is very close to an excellent grocery store and dining.
