A few days before our arrival, the hotel sent me an email stating that they would not be able to uphold the 'Breakfast Included' promise. Instead, I’d get a discount or get a packed breakfast to-go. I was very disappointed, but decided on the discount, thinking that we'd be able to get breakfast at a bakery in town. Nope! No bakeries in town.
We arrived at 8:00, hungry for dinner. That wasn’t possible at the hotel, which had completely closed dinner by that time. We also found out that they were only serving vegan meals. Okay, fine. We'll find another place to eat or try vegan.
Nope! No other place in town. There was only one restaurant open, and they were completely full. We decided to go to our room and eat snacks from the car, and get some work done.
Nope! The advertised wifi does not extend to the rooms. Why? Because it's 'against their philosophy'. One must to go to the restaurants to get wifi.
While checking out the next morning, (early because I won’t stay in a hotel where I cannot get wifi) I noticed the remnants of a great breakfast on many plates at the main hotel building. Apparently they did serve breakfast, but not to those of us in the Gasthaus. Nice.
They were very accommodating in letting us check out early and giving us a cup of coffee for the road. But, I could never endorse a hotel who treats 'regular' customers so poorly because they have a conference in residence. And, I can never endorse a hotel that lies about wifi.
