Start the day with a cup of coffee on the covered porch while watching the sunrise through the trees. Stay hidden away or venture out to the small town of Helen, located only 6 miles from Bear Hug. Downtown is filled with restaurants, shops and attractions. Spend the day visiting local wineries or take a hike on one of the many trails in the area. Unicoi State Park is located only a mile away from the cabin, making a leisure hike to Anna Ruby Falls very convenient. Numerous wilderness areas and state parks with trails and waterfalls are located within easy driving distance.

Bear Hug's knotty-pine walls are accented with a collection of artfully crafted birdhouses in the living room and kitchen. You will find the kitchen equipped with a stove, oven and refrigerator, as well as both a standard and a Keurig coffee maker. Enjoy cooking a meal at the cabin, knowing you only need bring the groceries. We have the cookware and dinnerware you need stocked in the cabinets and drawers. For your convenience, there is also a washer and dryer. The cozy living room is complete with a wood-burning fireplace and a flat screen television. Curl up and watch a good movie! Or, you might decide to enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings while relaxing in the hot tub located on the front deck. Don't forget there is a gas grill on the back porch and an outdoor fire pit to enjoy!

Romantic Get Away
The cabin was so cute! The hot tub was immaculate. My husband and myself are both clean freaks and I was so happy to see the hot tub was so clean along with the entire cabin. We stayed over Thanksgiving. The kitchen was fully equipped for that! I bright so many kitchen items that I thought I would need but the kitchen was very well equipped. Bed was comfy too. We def plan to come back! Very close to downtown Helen.

Peaceful and cozy stay
My wife and I chose this cabin for our 24th wedding anniversary 4 day weekend. The cabin was very nice and peaceful. Perfect size for a peaceful romantic getaway. The cabin was clean and cozy. The hot tub was wonderful even in the middle of summer. We enjoyed using the back patio grill as well. This property really had all you needed. It was so nice being very close to Helen but yet still far enough away that you did not have any of the traffic or noise. My only recommendations/suggestions are the pots and pans are old and worn and could be updated/replaced, there were flickering lights in the bedroom CF and living room CF, and the mattress needs to be replaced (the middle sags).

Very nice!
The cabin has everything that is needed to stay a long weekend minus food. The bathroom has plenty of room and plenty of hot water, Clean! It’s in a quiet area also. I recommend this to anyone that has a couple of nights to get away from the hassle at home. I’m not much for walking around in Helen because I don’t consider that rest, I’d rather lay around in the cabin. Oh yeah the hot tub is awesome also private and clean.

Great place to stay when visiting Helen, GA. Not just for the downtown activities but the perfect spot for all other sites and attractions. A lot better than staying in a hotel. Not hard to locate and easy accessibility. Would defiantly recommend. Thank you so much for the great experience.

Good to know that it's a gravel road to get there. Nita gave great directions so be sure to follow that. Great amenities. A little awkward having the tub facing the other properties but the curtain that's installed helps a ton. Bed was AMAZINGLY comfortable and it was wonderfully quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband & I really enjoyed our stay at Bear Hug! It was a nice little getaway. The cabin was clean & well stocked. The only thing I wish we did different was to be more prepared as far as having snacks/drinks at the cabin. It’s a pretty good drive back into town to get things. Other then that everything was great!

This cabin was so cute and clean. There were a few webs in the high corners but i, thinking that maybe they were for decoration(not sure). There were extra pillows, towels, and kitchen essentials. The hot tub worked fine, board games and all the stations on tv worked as well. 15 mins away from all restaurants, stores and tourist attractions. The fridge makes this loud knocking noise at times but overall it was a great place to stay and yes I would stay here again.

Best bear hug
The cabin is in the perfect place for privacy. Yet it is so easy and quick to get to shopoing areas. I walked up the wooden ramp and saw the hot tub. Entry was easy. I veiwed the place and it reminded me mof home growing up. I loved the wood throughout tge cabin. The fire place, grill, and fire pit out back was great. The kitchen nedroom and vathroom were all very clean and inviting. Everything was perfect right down to the bear shower curtain. I packed blankets and towels and even pots for the kichen. I did not need any of it. This cabin had everyrhing I wanted and needed. Even the washer and dryer. This was the best place I vacationed to yet. If you want peace and privacy topped with cleanliness, happiness, anf joy then this is it. Not to meantiin the bed sleeps very well.We are already planning another trip there for Octoberfest. We visited the national park while there and it was breathtaking . Friendly downtown area with loads of fun activities. We are telling our friends and family too. We could not have made a better choice.
