Make sure to experience all there is in this neck of the woods! Bring the camera on the hike to Dukes Creek waterfall, or try paddleboarding or the zip line at Unicoi State Park.

The scenery is stunning, with striking panoramic views of the forests and mountains and the custom-built wood and stone of the cabin. The living area features large windows that let in lots of natural light, a TV and DVD player, and an electric fireplace you can snuggle in front of. With lots of space and stainless steel appliances, this kitchen is a dream to work in. There's no better way to start a lazy Sunday morning than with a lovingly prepared brunch for the whole crew! If you want to grill at any point, there's a gas barbecue on the downstairs deck where you can fry up some burgers.

In addition to the grill, the lower deck has the crown jewel of this home - the private hot tub. Soak away your cares, then grab a mug of hot cocoa and head to the upper decks to watch the stars shine out over the mountains. We hope you brought makings for s'mores - the firepit in the backyard is ready for you to heat tasty treats.

The primary suite has a jetted tub in the bathroom and French doors leading out onto a screened upper deck. Each bedroom has a TV, and there is a futon, as well as two twin rollaway beds to make sure everyone has comfy sleeping space.

Cabin was beautiful, but issues with Vacasa
Cabin was beautiful in a quiet area. Had some minor issues that I made multiple attempts in contacting the property mgt company, Vacasa in hopes of getting some help with, but they told me someone would be reaching out to me. This went on for 2 days without any one calling me or offering to troubleshoot said issues or even trying to resolve any of the issues we had. I wouldn't recommend this cabin because they were impossible to communicate with. Thank God we didn't come into a safety issue because we'd die waiting on them to fix anything. Very disappointing given the amount of $ we paid to stay here.

Great cabin in a great location
Beautiful cabin with everything you could possibly need and more. Close to Helen but away from it all. We loved the pool table and hot tub and the bear decor throughout. Only problem was the shower upstairs leaked into the bedroom downstairs and we couldn't get someone to fix after several calls to the local office. Assuming they get that fixed, I would highly recommend as everything else was great.

Issues with house and poor communication from Vacasa
So we absolutely loved this cabin, it was beautiful and was even prettier in person. However, after the first night there we noticed a strange bite on my 3 year old’s arm and I had several as well. I figured we were in the mountains and there are bugs everywhere, and somewhat just dismissed it. The following morning I woke up with another bite on my face. We had the cabin for a total of 4 nights and on the 4th night (we had a late night), my husband was fixing the pillows and found a bug crawling on the mattress under the pillows. He called me in there and we looked it up and it was a bed bug. He realized he had also seen a dead one in our kids bed the day before when he was fixing their sheets and blankets. He said he had gotten it off, but hadn’t thought too much about it. Even though I rented it through here, I contacted Vacasa since it was their property. I emailed them and let them know what we found, attached the pictures, and let them know we were packing up our car and three children and driving 4 hours home at 1:4o in the morning. I had not gotten a reply for my email, so I called the next day and stayed on hold for Vacasa for 25 minutes before anyone answered. The woman was very friendly and had me email her the pictures, she also pulled up my email from the night before. She agreed it was definitely a bed bug and said she would send an email tj the property manager and ask about compensation as well. She said the property manager would cal me about the situation probably the following day. I never got a phone call, but they did refund a small amount. I assume for the one night we left. I feel as though the situation was brushed off and bowls handled correctly on their end. All of our stuff had to be brought in carefully and washed, some had to stay in the hot car for several days because heat is the only thing that really kills bed bugs, and we did find one in my husbands suitcase while unpacking it outside. We have a neighbor that works for an extermination company and he said if we got them, we’re looking at $700-$800+ Service to have them removed. It was such a hassle and quite honestly, I’m pretty scared to stay anywhere besides my own house now. I felt like they should’ve called and actually had a conversation about it, and that they would’ve said wether they’re going to handle the issue or what they’re doing about it. I wrote a review on the cabin on their page as well, but they deleted it. I’m upset with Vacasa and will not use.

Beautiful cabin 3/10/22-3/15/22
This cabin had everything you could need. We used it all, hot tub, pool table, kitchen and accessories and fire pit. We were sad when the very cold and strong winds created a power outage for all surrounding areas at 2:30 am and by morning we thought we would need to leave since there was no power, heat, electric, gas, or water. Had been in the 20's and that night was to get in the teens. Just as we started to pack, the power came on at 1:00pm. YAHOO. We had enjoyed the town of Helen with several days of dining (not cheap) put-put golf, gem mining, general touring and waterfalls. Dukes Creek was a nice little hike with a beautiful waterfall and Anna Ruby Falls has a wonderful path up to a fabulous waterfall. Only 3 things to make note of, 5 different dogs were off leash and 4 were on this property with no owner in site. I was always nervous when walking my little pomeranian. The fire alarm is right in the kitchen and anytime the toaster was used or the oven door opened the alarm would go off, had to have someone stand by with a towel to wave in front of it to keep the dog from a trembling mess. Slight urine smell in the loft area by the pool sticks, I know we always keep a doggie diaper on our dog when in a new place so it wasnt from our dog. Those were minor (except for loose dogs) so our stay was wonderful. Location was great and the little store had everything we were looking for.

Would you like to sell?
I had a good experience we slept well, the home was spacious, location was good and it was just what my wife and I needed. The blender needed to be cleaned as did the the coffee pot it was also dirty. Did not like having to haul our trash to several miles away in our car so that is problematic and probably would not rent again because of that. Other than that it was a wonderful place. I would like to speak with the owners about selling. My wife an I are looking for a short term rental and if you could put us in touch, we would continue to use your services. All the best, Darren & Darla Nofziger

Left early
I'm not sure about 'communication with the property manager'. Was that Vacasa? I talked with several people but no one seemed to be local. Arrival was good. The house is very nice. We had a great Friday night and Saturday. Sunday morning the snow was beautiful and the kids were excited. Just about daybreak we lost power. This was a widespread outage. No power, no heat, and no water. With our limited cell phone service we came to understand that it was only going to get worse and we needed to get out quickly. So we lost the last 24 hours of our much needed get away. I know that the weather is beyond your control but some backup resources would have kept us there. The local staff could have advised us before hand about having water on hand for flushing and a gas fireplace, propane heater or generator would have saved the trip.

Beautiful cabin
The cabin itself was beautiful and very well maintained. It’s about 15 min from Helen so that was really nice. Close to Unicoi state park and Anna ruby falls. A couple things we noticed however was- there was an old coffee filter with coffee still left in the coffee maker, someone left a cigarette in the toilet, and there was a dirty glass left in the dishwasher. Not a deal breaker or anything but with Covid I would’ve liked to feel a little more confident in the cleanliness. I would definitely give it another shot though. Truly was a great place and location. Also, there was no fire wood for the fire pit or fireplace so heads up you may want to bring your own if you’re planning to use those things.

Dirty cabin!
Cabin was very dirty. Greasy food crusted kettle on stove. Oven and grill was extremely dirty. Dish washer was moldy and smelly, the filter was full of gunk and shards of broken glass. Stained chair cushions on porch. Broken shelf in fridge. White powder spattered on bathroom door. Utensil drawer had black gunk and crumbs caked in it. This list goes on! I took pictures. We were told that the cabin would have premium cleaning service due toCovid 19. This is false advertising and I want my money back!

Down time
We had a girls trip with down time planned. We cooked and enjoyed the open space, could’ve used some newer pots but everything worked well. Oddly enough, the toilet paper shortage mentioned in other reviews was real. Trust that people won’t walk off with what you leave in the house, but leave people with MORE than enough. Rationing while on vacation is never a good thing! We thoroughly enjoyed the porches and would stay here again.

My family loved this property. There isn't much immediately around the property but just a few miles down the road is the small City of Helen. It's super cute! The little touches made this house, it's bear themed and we loved finding all the little bears all over the house. Beds might need updating. We will be back
