When we arrived at the Amber Lombok for our two-week honeymoon, we could to believe how perfect it was, with a beautiful location, stunning villa and friendly staff. However, unfortunately that was all soon ruined by a rat infestation.
All went well for the first week, but after being awoken twice in three nights by rats in our bedroom, we requested that we get moved to another room - where, unfortunately , this time we experienced rats stealing food from our kitchen in the middle of the day.
As you can imagine, this ruined what should have been a blissful time by leaving us unable to sleep well, forced to rearrange plans to deal with moving rooms, and unable to bring ourselves to cook in the Villa kitchen or use the hotel restaurant again.
Upon returning home and attempting to process a refund for the ruined days and nights of our trip, the hotel was nothing but difficult, refusing contact, ignoring emails, and failing to return calls. Poor customer service on top of a frankly totally unacceptable hygiene situation.
Our honeymoon was ruined by staying at the Amber Lombok; don’t make the same mistake.
