I paid my stay on arrival and then you HAVE to put a separate $100.00 "security deposit" down which was not listed on Expedia. (What if I was not able to provide this extra unknown fee- they would still change the room to the cc on the file!) NOT okay. Walmart bags for the garbage can bags. TV remote had no back piece to secure the batteries. There is not an elevator at this location. The best part.... As I was checking out, the employee asked if I enjoyed my stay. I wanted my $100 back so I said yes. He asked if I would scan the QR code and leave a review. HE TOOK MY PHONE AND DID THE REVIEW HIMSELF..... ALL 5 STARS.... Then submitted it. I have never experienced anything like this.

I stayed at Econo Lodge North (11/14) for one night to catch an early flight out of FSD (I am not from the SF area). After checking in, I was asked to reshare my ID and resign the check-in document, which felt like I had to check in twice at 10 pm. While sleeping, a woman, who I assume was management, came into the room without warning at 6:30 a.m., asking for my ID again. I felt my rest and peace were disturbed, which made my stay very uncomfortable and bothered. The hotel is not in good condition and will not be returning in the future.

Everything was run down and falling apart. 2nd floor hallway was leaking and the carpet in 1st floor hallway was a puddle. The hot tub was murky, i used the net thing to scoop out bugs, 3 out of the 10 jets worked and it was warm, not hot. Free breakfast was ok. Room was only 45 so i wont waste my time complaining to much. Just want to inform fellow travelers. Family's beware, i was a solo traveler that is very minimalistic, so it worked. Beds are super cheap mattresses, springs will getcha, no box spring. I had a do not disturb thing on my door, a maid knocked on my door at 8am and said housekeeping. I didnt answer. She knocked again at 8:50. I got up mad and answered in my boxers. 2 ladies standing there asked if i needed house keeping. I said no, thats why the do not disturb is on the door, and shut it. The next morning the same thing happened, she knocked at 8:01, said housekeeping, i again was awaken, mad and when i opened my door, i said i put the do not disturb on the door for a reason. Obviously i dont want housekeeping. This woman took it off my door, and walked away with it. Super cheap, not worth it.

I don’t believe the room was cleaned after last guest left. Bed was made but sheets were dirty and wash-clothes too. Next morning housekeeping/manager came to room to retrieve a wallet that was forgotten by a past guest it was under the bed. Not found by housekeeper during cleaning obviously. Extremely stingy on towels … 2 per room when room sleeps 4 people. Didn’t seem happy to give us more when asked. Breakfast had waffles, muffins, cereal and toast/bagels but no fruit or eggs or yogurt. Jets on hot tub not functioning either.

Good enough room kind of dingy worst breakfast ever just really nothing there to eat other than wallfles and bread it was clean the picture of the breakfast shows a warmer in the Expedia app but there was know warmer no protein or fruit just carbs
