This is the first time staying here since the Ritz Carlton became The Whitley. Before the stay, I texted with a staff member (and she replied that yes this was available) requesting chocolate covered strawberries and champagne to be placed in the room for a birthday surprise for my wife. Upon arrival in the room, the requested items were not there. The front desk said "a large party had put their special item deliveries behind" and eventually brought the items *after* we had to leave for a dinner reservation. Although they comped the cost, it ruined the surprise.
The stay was a Saturday night and the next morning around 6:30 - 7:00 a.m. a family with small children in the adjacent room woke us up making a cacophonous racket, with the sound of some ball being bounced against the wall between our rooms. A truly disappointing experience for what is supposed to be a five star property. Also, one might think at the prices being charged that parking would be included, but to valet overnight would have been a $57 charge. We ended up self parking in the back lot for "only" $20.
