Reserved a room several weeks in advance but when I arrived, the desk clerk told me my room was not available. When I politely asked why my room was given away, the clerk became agitated almost immediately; stating, "You want me to go wake the people up and kick them out of the room?!"
I replied, "That's not what I asked. I asked why you gave the room I reserved to someone else," to which, he responded by scribbling over my reservation and yelling, "I'm not gonna kick people out of their room, so you can leave. There's the door!"
I was floored at this belligerent, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional behavior. I had done nothing to provoke this man. I asked a single question and he flew off the handle.
After I finally got him to answer my question, he offered me the king suite. This was still the cheapest option in the area on such short notice but at that point, I had no desire to give this motel any of my money. I politely declined and stayed at the hotel across the street.
Beware that if you reserve a room at this motel and do not arrive before 11 PM, they will give your room away without notice. Further, I would not expect to receive any courtesy or professionalism from the staff based on my interaction. That man obviously needs anger management and should not be in a position where he has to interact with people.
