To add a roll-away bed, the hotel wanted me to move to a bigger room for US$200 extra a day. I refused and wanted the hotel just to add a roll-away bed. The hotel charge me US$100 a day, US$200 for two days. That was most I paid for a roll away bed. I rented three rooms around Xmas and New Year times for 5-6 days. It was holiday time, I already paid US$300-400 per day all included. I paid the roll-away bed at check-in time. But at check-out time, hotel charge extra NT$1000 per room for a total of NT$3000 with no explanation what so ever. My family and I were holidaying in Taiwan and the Howard Plaza is the final hotel that we stayed in before flying home. We had the 2 deluxe twin rooms and they were big comfortable rooms. Decor is a bit dated but very clean rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast is offered over 3 restaurants to help distribute guests so nowhere feels overly crowded, and the breakfast spread was good. One minor peeve was when we were arranging for transport to the airport on our last day. We needed a taxi that could take 5 of us plus our luggage to take us to the airport at 6:45am the next morning, and I spoke to the concierge to make the arrangements. He wrote down my request and I assumed that it would be taken care of. The next morning when we headed down to breakfast I took to opportunity to check with a seperate duty concierge about my taxi booking and to my horror it wasn't done. The concierge then offered to do an immediate booking but will have to split 2 our party into 2 cabs. I wasn't happy but agreed. Thankfully, this concierge managed to make arrangements such that a larger cab took our booking and my family of 5 could travel in one cab. Many thanks to Henry who made this arrangements.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Howard. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean, and I felt very good at its price point. The restaurants in the hotel and around the neighbourhood were top notch. I would visit again.
