Sad demise from its former high std
A once proud and semi luxurious motel is now very tired & run down. Site probably up for redevelopment but still could be given some TLC to help justify its price. It is though clean, as clean as can be with 25 year old carpet.Check in is at hotel next door which is bit of hassle.

Room is very run down and falling apart in lots of places, ripped wallpaper, shower walls broken etc. Had the two bedroom unit. Used the fold out bed in the lounge it was like sleeping on springs and metal bars. Just awful. No actual mattress left on it at all. Everything else I can deal with. But couldn’t sleep at all kitchen smelled very musty. Location good. Found out at the end of the stay that we could use the millennium pool etc. oasis pool ok but deep.

Our room smelt of spices and felt dusty (asthma flared up). Plus the locked gates out the front made it hard to return from the lake front walkway.

I like the design of the place, the rooms are spacious, and well positioned. The staff are fantastic and friendly. Unfortunately, the property is showing signs of age. Peeling paint in the bathroom and carpets that have sections that are rust stained or tattered. The heated pool is always a drawcard for us and the layout is great with the courtyard aspect. The pool is also in need of some cosmetic repair. I hope the property repairs it and keeps this going for future patrons. This has been a go-to for us over the years but given the wear and tear it is no longer such good value for the cost.

The Oasis Beach Resort was perfect for our small family. The room and amenities were clean and tidy. Our small balcony opened out to the heated pool which was perfect for a morning swim and with a short walk down the oath from our front door, we had access to the lake. We will definately stay here again whenever we come back to Taupo.
