Looking for a great home base just minutes from the slopes and other year-round attractions at Tahoe Donner? This three-bedroom unit in our Tahoe Donner rentals has it all - a convenient location, lovely interior, a loft game room, and a spacious, beautiful primary suite. This home is perfect for family ski getaways, a group of friends exploring Lake Tahoe, or couples traveling together.

From the outside walkway, you'll enter through a small mudroom - perfect for storing hiking gear or skis. An open living room has tall ceilings, a sectional sofa, and a flatscreen TV with cable, and a DVD player. For a family movie night, just pop the popcorn! And, if you forget DVDs from home, don't worry, this home has a DVD library, as well as a videotape collection to browse. Of course, you may just want to find a comfy spot on the couch and curl up with a good book.

The dining room and kitchen are bright and open. The dining room table will seat eight for lively meals, and there is additional seating nearby at the breakfast bar if needed.

The full kitchen has all the appliances you'd expect to find, including a gas stovetop, microwave, and blender. There's even a tea kettle for warming mugs of Earl Grey in the morning. A small wet bar to the end of a kitchen has a separate sink and wine glasses for pouring beverages or shaking up a martini or two. Also on this level is a laundry room with washer and dryer, as well as a full bathroom.

Up a flight of stairs awaits the loft area, a great space with a foosball table, an electronic keyboard, and a lot of games. Perfect for kids of any age - the adult ones too! Right off the loft, you have an outdoor deck, perfect for relaxing in the evening with a glass of wine while a foosball tournament plays out inside.

The spacious primary bedroom (along with the other two bedrooms) are located upstairs. The lucky inhabitant of the primary will find themselves surrounded by serene wall colors, a small seating area, a writing desk, and access to another outdoor deck. There is a king bed and lots of space - you may even find yourself turning in early to sketch at the desk, read a book, or just sit out on the deck with a mug of herbal tea. The luxurious en sutie bathroom has a jetted tub, two sinks, and a separate shower.

A second bedroom is smaller, but just as nice with a queen sized bed, snuggly quilt, and a TV with built-in VCR. The third bedroom is great for kids with two sets of bunk beds - a twin bed over a full bed, and a twin over a twin. This room is bright and also has its own TV. There's another full bathroom on this level. This vacation rental also offers other amenities including WiFi and a stereo with CD player.

Tahoe Donner offers amazing recreational amenities for every season of the year: 3 pools (one is year-round outdoor heated lap pool), hot tub, tennis center, tennis pro shop, golf course, driving range, golf pro shop, fitness center, winter snow play area, ski area, equestrian center, cross-country ski center, close to Coyote Moon golf course. The members-only beach club and boat launch on Donner Lake features a beach, boat launch, rentals: boat, kayak, paddleboard, etc., cafe, facilities, parking. All the standard Tahoe Donner amenities are $8 a day for any and all you can use in a day. Non-standard amenities cost more: equestrian, golf, ski, and fitness classes.

In winter, the Tahoe Donner cross country ski center offers over 50 Nordic trails, with both climbing peaks and gently rolling hills. The downhill ski area has a world-class instruction which makes it perfect for beginners, as well as fun for the more established ski bums in your group. There are also spots for sledding and tubing. When you need a break, you can find a fire pit to relax around and sip some hot cocoa.

Warm, sunny days offer opportunities for a game of golf and then a lunch of fish tacos and burgers on the Lodge Restaurant & Pub's outdoor deck. In addition, there are two other nearby golf courses - Coyote Moon is only three and a half miles away and Ponderosa is just seven miles from the house. And you're also just to the northwest of Lake Tahoe, so there are beaches, boating, and other water sports just a short drive away.

Year-round, this Truckee vacation home will delight you with its jam-packed amenities, proximity to attractions, and comfortable interior.

Unsafe Property - No Snow Removal
Property owner did not have snow removed following 16" snowfall three weeks before our visit, so the snow melted into a solid block with 3"layer of ice one the very steep driveway and steps. We called Vacassa on arrival and spoke to their local agent, Joe, who was rude and said he could not have the snow and ice removed. I asked him to call the property owner. A next door neighbor stopped while I was chipping, unsuccessfully, at the ice, to tell us that the owner would have a snow removal crew come the next day. No crew ever appeared. We called Joe and left 8 voicemails over the next few days, but never received a return call. When we texted Vacassa asking for help their response was "pick up a shovel". After four days of our seven day rental we packed up and left since the property was unsafe. The steep snow and ice covered driveway and steps were treacherous to walk on. We have asked Vacassa for a refund but have not had a response. Please help us out here.

Solving house
The house was just fine. However it lacked the small details that make it special. There was very little kitchen amenities (paper towels, coffee, soup ladle, foil, enough dishwasher detergent…). The lighting was not warm- led harsh lighting over the dining room and very little lighting in the living room. The kitchen appliances were old and tired- stove gas lighting took forever to boil water. The toaster oven worked but had a broken foot. The bunk bed (top) squeak so much that the child wound up sleeping with her sister on the bottom bed -sharing the bed. We had a good time but would probably not rent this house again. And I had to pay for 2 booking fees (vrbo and Vacasa) which added at least $250 on top of the regular fees). The house was very clean and warm.

Wonderful stay
The Solvang house is in a very quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed sitting out on the decks and walking on the nearby trail. House is spacious and well appointed. Especially appreciated the numerous fans since it was quite hot during our stay.

Great location
We enjoyed our stay here. There are a few things that weren’t clear in the listing. The lodge with pool and other amenities is about 2 miles away - nowhere close to the house. There is no air conditioning, so it got very hot during the summer days. The appliances are all outdated. And the house is not deep cleaned - there are cobwebs all over the ceiling and lots of dirt and dust under everything. They only spot clean the house between guests. Other than those few things, we were pleased.

Great location! Quiet, very clean. Disappointed that there was not cable tv available, or that the jaquzzi tub wasn't working. Overall wonderful spot would come back again!

Great place for families.
Surprised by the lack of cooking basics in the house. Not even any olive oil. The thing you would expect a house like this to just have. Other than the lack of kitchen essentials the house was great.

This house was very nice! Great setup for hosting a dinner for friends and family. Everything was neat, clean and in order. Great sound system and the beds very comfortable! The check out was easier than most. My kids want to go back and some day I am sure we will!

Family Reunion
The house worked out great for our family reunion. The deck is incredible - very large - a wonderful place to entertain. We had some issues with maintenance on the house - it is a little worn - but the owners were very responsive in addressing any issues we had. We were there during the summer so used the big family room downstairs more as storage for suitcases, etc. but I imagine in the winter it comes in very handy as a place to hang out. There were plenty of towels and bedding and the kitchen was well stocked.

Clean but issues
We loved the location and the cleanliness of the house. But the ac did not work and it was warm this weekend in truckee and the refrigerator never got cold so we couldn't really buy any food.

House is fine but managed poorly
House is a great size for two, four person families and is generally true to the description. Housewares are quite run down with just a few rusty pans and the foozball table doesn't really work, with lots of missing pieces. Also, tub with jets doesn't work but shots water straight at your face. Frankly, I could overlook most of these for location and space, but the Vacasa management is AWFUL. The phone number listed in the house is disconnected ( no response via email either) and when I called the general Vacasa helpline, I talked to Ginger in Portland who promised to help and call back, but did nothing. All we really needed was some good snow shovels (sorry, but a bent snow shovel and a garden shovel don't cut it when you have a 20 foot driveway to shovel with two feet of snow, twice). Good luck waiting for them to plow you in or out. If it weren't for a Good Samaritan neighbor, it would have easily taken us four adults hours to shovel our way to the garage. We've shoveled plenty of snow in Virginia and Michigan and those shovels were pathetic. I think I will avoid Vacasa in the future as there are MANY other companies or families to rent from. I understand it was a big storm, but this isn't the first time we've weathered a snowstorm in Truckee, but it will be the last we weather with Vacasa...

Great Place, but limited hot water
Pro: This was a great location. We did not hangout much in this house it was mostly just to sleep. It was very clean, and spacious. Lot's of bathrooms, and beautiful master suite. Con: Limited hot water, and the steps to the front door were covered in snow and ice. Was a bit dangerous since we arrived late at night. the next day one of the attendees actually shoveled it for us. Also, the key was a challenge to get out. I called, but no answer took about 10mins. If you never have used the lock system I suggest calling ahead of time, and asking how to use it. Overall, we would rent this location again, and may next year. Thank you for everything :)

Absolutely amazing. Warm and welcoming. Perfect for a family
This location is so amazing the appliances are a little outdated but really I have no complaints. It accommodated my every need with a 1yr old 7 yr old and 12yr old we never got bored. There is so much space games and movies and Huge jet spa bath tub in the master room and central heating and air not to mention the access to the Tahoe Donner groynds. I will surely be revisiting this location everything I visit this area. We visited 10/21/16- 10/23/16 (my bday) and i just want to say Thank you for such an awesome experience for my birthday weekend.....

Dated and Cold
With so many other options in the area, we would definitely not rent or recommend this house again. We were two families with young toddlers in tow. The two-story house is spacious with a very large kitchen area and plenty of room for dining. It was stocked with plenty of pots and pans and the basic things one needs to cook. The house was very cold upon our arrival and it took a while to warm up, but we were cold most of the time. The heater was automated to reset to 53°. We bought wood for the wood-burning stove and that helped alot. One of our biggest concerns as parents were the upstairs railing. The spacing between them was so wide that we were worried our two toddlers could fit their bodies between them and fall. Subsequently, we tried to block it with pillows and other things to hopefully prevent that. It was definitely not up to current code and wider than 4". Cleanliness in the kitchen could have been much better and we were certain, we saw mouse droppings in two of the empty drawers. the microwave handle was old and falling off. However, on the positive, there were plenty of toys and board games upstairs. There was also a mini foosball table that could convert into air hockey and a mini billliards table. That was fun for the kids to see and try to play with. It snowed the entire time we were there and it was a lovely sight! Mother nature was the best part of the house. Lots of windows to see the wintry scene. The kids went out back and played in the snow. They built a snow fort, made snowballs, and tried to create a short sled run. It was nice that it was just in the backyard and we didn't really have to go anywhere else to enjoy the snow.
