Room was mostly clean though ceiling fan in bathroom was filthy. The park is beautiful but sadly there was a ton of garbage in the wooded area around the lodge. You’d think the lodge would be responsible to keep the grounds clean of trash. Check in was slow and clerks were obviously tired and not in the best customer service moods. We wanted to eat at the lodge but the cafeteria was already closed at 10:30 am and the dinner line was way longer than we wanted to stand in. We got coffee from the cafe early after catching the sunrise, one of the girls working was fantastic? The other didn’t seem to want to be there. Website had implied more of a fine dining experience so we ended up driving all the way to town for food. Noisy neighbors and thin walls isn’t really the best combination. Overall, this place was a good value for being inside the park but I wouldn’t have been nearly as happy with it had it not been located in the actual park.
Obviously great location but what I really appreciated was the hardworking, attentive and friendly staff. The bed and room was much more comfortable than expected and made for a great stay.

The property is older but fairly modernized inside. It was quiet and convenient for our pets. We missed having a microwave and the refrigerator did not feel cold enough even though the thermostat was adjusted. The cafeteria selections were fair, but certain items ran out quickly. Food quality could be improved.
Quiet, clean hotel surrounded by trees. You can't see the canyon from the room, but you can walk to Yavapai Point or drive 3 minutes. It was really nice to be able to easily go see the sunrise and sunset. There was a grocery store near the hotel, which was very convenient. Also, the hotel restaurant was reasonably priced and delicious.
Great place to stay if you're not big on indulgence, but just want a convenient, clean, quiet place that is close to the market, the dining hall and the visitors center. Doesn't have the charm of the historic properties in the village, but also doesn't have the crowd or the price. Be aware that there is no internet in the rooms, if that matters to you. I was able to use a hot spot from my phone for the few times that I really needed it.
The room was in good condition (recently refurbished) and spotlessly clean. The staff were very helpful. The room wasn’t serviced when we stayed but that wasn’t a problem. Food was ok at the Lodge - what you expect in a national park.
