Suksma Swahita Ubud
A quiet oasis of a hotel a short walk from the main road in Ubud (though may be a little far for some). The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful in planning a day trip for me, and always remembered my name. The room was spacious and very clean, with a lovely view of the rainforest from the balcony. Good airconditioning and nice bathroom. I loved relaxing by the pool in the afternoons after exploring in the morning. There was breakfast included but unfortunately the restaurant is not open for lunch or dinner. Hangout restaurant nearby had some of the best food that I had during my time in Bali.

Incredible staff, crumbling rooms
The staff is amazing and they take care of you so well but the rooms (or at least the one I stayed in) are falling apart. There was a huge hole in my bathroom wall that made me nervous about critters and a lot of the finishes were rusted and old. On the upside I felt safe as a female solo traveler. It’s so incredibly close to everything while still being tucked away from all the Ubud city center noise

I had a wonderful stay. The room is very comfortable with a powerful hot shower and plenty of space to spread out. I felt safe staying here travelling as a woman on my own. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I hope to return one day soon!

We stayed at Swahiti for 4 nights and yes while the building is dated it is extremely clean comfortable and the surrounds peaceful. The pool is amazing to cool off in, after a big day. BUT it’s the staff that make Swahita special. They are the most exceptional people you will ever meet. Friendly courteous helpful and even in a 4.9 earthquake they remained calm and informative of what we may need to do. Even when they were very busy with a full house, their service never altered. You won’t be disappointed.
