It’s a lovely old resort and I admired the old money setting however we did change rooms as the walls are paper thin. Noisy neighbors we did not enjoy hearing from..

For a man with heart issues, there was no ramp for wheeling suitcases. We are in our 70’s and had to carry bags up stairs to check in and then back down to get to Room 6. Where are the handicap accommodations? I don’t see them anywhere on property. I was only told the elevator would not work for our room.
Overall, the stay was fine. I always enjoy the charm of the Digby Pines.
My experience in the restaurant was a bit disappointing. Undercooked fish and extremely long wait to have it corrected, and then I was brought fish which was overcooked. And serve the cold vegetables back on my plate that were on my original plate that was waiting for the fish to be redone. Overall the service in the restaurant from the staff was very good. The room itself was very charming. It was very cold when I arrived at 18°. I think when you were expecting guests to check in, perhaps certainly this time of the year, ensuring the rooms are an appropriate temperature would be helpful. There is not an appropriate amount of bathroom. About a half a roll was supplied.
At 2 a.m. our toilet broke and my 94-yr old friend went down to the desk and explained what happened. A man was sent up with a plunger and it still didn't work so we were told to go across the hall and use the toilet in the room. Very inconvenient and disruptive. $50 was taken off our restaurant bill. My friend didn't get back to sleep that night.
The property from outside looks good. It has the old look charm and looks magnificent.the issues starts once you are inside the room.
It is quiet small and dated room.issues:
1. Mould in bathroom- bathtub and pull up curtains
2. No ventilation in the bathroom, the window needs to be opened
3. The doors are all swollen and don't open easily- may be due to poor ventilation and moisture
4. Sticky tsp in the sink, can't open it properly
5. Dirty pillow (had saliva stains)
6. The room service did not show up on our second day
7. The pull out bed mattress is quiet thin, barely for a child or small adult
My husband and I just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with a quiet get away to Digby for 3 days and 2 nights. Our stay at Digby Pines was the highlight! We dined on scallops in the Churchill Restaurant at the Pines and we were treated like royalty. The complimentary dessert in honour of the occasion was like the icing on a cake.
Our suite with a king sized bed was comfortable and so inviting. We hiked the grounds of the resort and continued our walk right into town to enjoy coffee at The Sea Biscuit followed by a guided tour of the dock by a friendly “come from away” yet now a local gentleman who offered his time and expertise on every subject pertaining to the boats and the fishing industry. Thank you David! Later our second night we feasted once again on scallops at the Fundy Restaurant in town. The manager of The Fundy even suggested a fish market for us to purchase fresh scallops to bring home the next day.
Before leaving the area, we headed to Digby Neck to hike the trail to see the “Balancing Rock”. Being October, the weather was perfect, skies were blue, the leaves were full of Color and the people of Digby were “golden.” Thank you all for your hospitality!
