After spending 24 days in camp and three more days traveling, I booked a room with a king bed through Expedia. My confirmation clearly stated a king bed.
When I arrived, I checked in, dropped off my luggage, and went out to run errands (haircut, shopping, dropping off my truck for service). Later, when I returned to the hotel room, I realized the bed was actually a queen.
When I went to the front desk to ask about the king bed, I was told, “We don’t have any.”
I didn’t mind that the hotel showed its age. I didn’t mind the few unfortunate people outside the building, or even the one lingering in the hall on the third floor. But after 24 days in camp, not getting the king bed I specifically booked and confirmed was disappointing.
