Bare bones… our room should probably not have been a room. Very small, dimly lit. If you’re flexible, rm 425 can work for you. Close to everything.

Just meh
Location is great but hotel is undesirable. You are paying for the location not accommodation. The room overall spacious. Walls are thin so you hear next door. The bathroom is absolutely awful. Teeny tiny. No mirror in the room to use when bathroom is occupied. The lighting in the room is awful. Don’t bring big suitcases if staying here. Elevators are very small.

A strange hotel, old building, odd shaped rooms. I had to pay £280 for one night to stay here and it was just not good value. They say each room is designed like a super model and each room has its own unique design, my room was a small room that was entirely white. Bed against the wall, strange pokey small bathroom with a tiny little shower in the corner. No super model design there, not sure why they even mentioned it. That said, the room had good air conditioning, the shower worked well and the bed was surprisngly comfortable, even if it wasn't quite level and was up against a window. All in all, a strange little place, but for £280 a night, id expect a lot more.

The location was brilliant - the room was great, overlooking the main street. Check in was very simple - biggest shout out to the night staff who put up with us coming home in some hysterical form or another. On the whole a great place to stay and the beds were super comfy - R205

We had a great stay at the Hotel Exchange. The Naked Emperor room with the camera obscura effect was really cool! I would definitely recommend it.

We arrived in Amsterdam by train, late - after 11:00 PM, and walked to the hotel. It was not a bad walk distance wise but did not feel safe. When we arrived, there was a narrow alley/hallway to the locked door. We were buzzed in and greeted in a very small lobby by the clerk who was sitting behind plexiglass. He was friendly and welcoming but the locked door and plexiglass added to the uncomfortable feeling. When we got to our room - it seemed clean but was decorated as I would imagine a brothel to be decorated. If that doesn’t bother you then this would be an okay place to stay. We had booked for 3 nights but booked a different hotel online for the next two nights and left in the morning. We would have left that night and not stayed at all but I was too scared to go back out until morning.

We had looked and looked for a hotel to stay at in Amsterdam and took a chance on this one because of the locations. I have nothing but good to say Checkin- was prompt and the man who checked us in was so friendly and helpful Location- this was the perfect location from the train station and all downtown activities Comfort- the room was perfect, it was clean and had everything g we needed including a safe and air conditioning

The location of this hotel is in a pretty prime spot! That part I really enjoyed. However, the front desk service was pretty unfriendly and not super welcoming. Additionally, I had Just booked the hotel and a couple hours later I realized I had accidentally selected the wrong dates and tried to amend the reservation. They refused to reimburse me. The two additional nights had been reserved by accident even though it had only been about 30 minutes. Typically, hotels will work with you, given the circumstances, and how far away in advance the reservation was made, but they seemed more interested in taking my money than helping me. When I got to the room, it was very very, very basic. It wasn’t super uncomfortable, but it definitely was not cozy cozy. I probably would not stay there again.

Good, budget-friendly hotel
Great location, just right for the budget. AC works great as Amsterdam was quite hot and the AC really helped. Staff is very friendly and helpful. No breakfast facility in the hotel, but they offer coffee and free fruit.

Quaint older property with character. Since there was no air conditioning it was nice to have a fan available and windows that opened. Very clean!
