Our stay was pleasant. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The hotel was conveniently located near a popular ice cream and mini golf center. My only concern was that the room smelled like second hand smoke upon our arrival and then at times during our stay. Smoking was allowed outside near the building, and the ventilation system may have carried smoke indoors.

Make sure to read the fine print! I called the hotel ahead of time to check their airport shuttle hours and was told it runs 24 hours -- but when I arrived at BGR, the shuttle was nowhere to be found, and no one was there answering the phone. Eventually I noticed in the fine print that you're supposed to schedule your pickup in advance -- it would have been nice if they told me that on the phone when I first called, rather than leaving me to get stranded at the airport at 2 am.

When we checked in she said my check in was for the 2nd so I showed her my reservation and she said I had to call Expedia to fix it . Then she looked again and said she fixed it. I found it odd that Expedia would mess up my reservation since I do a lot of business with them overall it was a nice getaway

It was very clean. However, the staff seemed like they were in a rush to check us in and get rid of me and my fiance. The wifi was horrible, couldn't get it to work for anything.

The Bangor Grande is an older hotel; however, the staff was very friendly and the room was larger than expected and clean. It is close to the casino and movie theatre and only 15 min. from the Univ. of Maine. Local fast food restaurants are nearby.

Staff were very friendly during our entire stay; front desk seemed to be available 24/7 which was nice for any late night questions. The hotel was clean and our room was very comfortable in terms of space. The bed was not very comfortable and our room did not have a microwave; there is a communal one available. There are lots of amenities and parking was very easy. Overall, a pleasant stay!

First of all, the staff at the Grande were wonderful- very helpful and friendly. There is a restaurant/bar in the property that we really enjoyed, but it is not owned by the property. It’s my understanding that the hotel was just transferred from Ramada to private hands. The lobby, pool and the fitness center were great (I’m not an indoor pool person, but it was very pretty.) The place was a construction site - not at all attractive, and our entrance it felt deserted. We were on the 2nd floor WITH NO ELEVATOR. (Expected in a motel, but not a hotel) The room was clean, but very dated. The tub was ancient. No coffee maker, and there was a fridge but it took us 3 days to find it. The Grande is not close to downtown Bangor - a place I will never want to go back too, BTW.

Nice clean hotel with large rooms. However, there is no elevator in the building. So if you reserve a 2nd floor room, you need to be able to carry luggage up stairs. It wasn’t an issue for us, but it could be a problem for others. All suite type rooms are located on 2nd floor.
