Eco-Bull Hotel - Just Average
This is a really, really average Motel type experience. It’s a decent room, cheap TV and a tea / coffee, little safe kind of space but nowhere near worth the money.
Some important points for anyone who might get fooled by their “Eco-hotel” kind of marketing:
The air-con in the corridors is blasting out cold air (on a cold Sept evening) and the rooms are subsequently very cold - so guests need to put the heating on which then competes with the corridor air-con as the rooms heat up. Madness! And burning up money - which is reflected in the cost - as well as CO2 expended.
All the “do-the-right-thing” signage which swamps their marketing is a classic way of saying what they actually DON’T understand nor subscribe to, really.
Other Points to note
If there’s a big Hooray Henry Party (a huge finance company block-booked the place) happening then do not expect an evening meal. The (lovely, well-meaning) young staff suggested Burger King “just over the road” as the alternative. Think on that business guests.
The corridors are dark, with a soulless grey decor and the signage for the whole complex is either confusing or non-existant. The staff I spoke to said it’s a perennial complaint of guests. See attached picture which lists room numbers back to front.
I was told that the (actually, amazing) gym “can only take ten guests” which I’m sure was not true as there were over forty pieces of equipment and loads of space. But guess what? The signage to there is very poor.
