Had lunch while waiting for our room and other tables who were seated after us were served their food before us. Eventually food arrived cold. Check in was disorganized and not professional. The room was dirty and furniture VERY worn. After providing feedback to the restaurant manager, concierge desk and the main manager nothing was resolved. There was a lot of thanks for feedback etc. very disappointing overall. Will only book at Banff Springs and if that property is sold out I just won’t go to Banff. Rimrock is 3 stars.

Our room had spectacular views. The shuttle was very convenient. Did not have a book in the room highlighting the amenities. Went to the spa and asked for a printed out menu with treatments and pricing which they did not have. The hotel said you had to download it on your phone…. I am on vacation and I did not want to be on my phone. If they had a book in the room I could have looked through and would have most definitely booked a treatment….

The room had great view of the mountain but the room conditions are best described as a dump. The carpet was sticky and the bathroom looks like an 2 star rural hotel. The Keureg coffee machine never worked and appears to be 10 plus years old.And this is despite the USD 800 price tag per night.

Amazing location with beautiful views. Very quiet and peaceful with short walk to the gondola and hot springs. Food was excellent. Ate buffet breakfast daily, primrose for dinner and Larkspur for lunch. Staff was super friendly. Rooms are nice but could use a little updating.

Always know what you’re getting with the rimrock. Beautiful rooms with beautiful views and excellent service. The room we had booked was not available so they upgraded us for no additional cost and threw in free breakfast vouchers which was greatly appreciated.

Resort and food overall was excellent. Room was worn down by age. Found out the place hasn’t been renovated in 30 years and is just about to get started. So while the rooms are well used now, I’m sure they will improve. Highly recommend checking it out

The fact that it’s quite close to the area’s main attractions is great! The view is amazing from the Mountain View side. The carpet in my room had a few stains and the level of service in general can be easily raised a notch!

We stayed at the Rim Rock as a last minute reservation when the Fairmont was unavailable. Check in and customer service were on point and the cleanliness and amenities were what was expected for the price. My complaint is that the Rim Rock was billed as a modern alternative to the Fairmont with a similar price point, but I would no longer consider it a modern alternative. The rooms do not appear to have been updated since I last stayed there 25 years ago. If the Rimrock wants to continue to be the “modern” alternative, especially at the price point they need to invest in renovations and updating
