During a week's stay in Maine, this was one of three places my daughter and I stayed. It was our least favorite. For us, we realized we preferred staying in the cozy B&Bs rather than this place. It depends on what experience you want. Since we were there in October, the pool was closed. We stayed in a huge room, one of the hill top rooms with a balcony. We thought we wanted to have the ocean view experience, which was great. For what I paid, however, I expected more. I missed the extra service and thoughtfulness of the B&Bs. After committing to our stay through Hotels.com, I received an email confirmation from The Inn at Ocean's Edge -- noting that had we made reservations directly, we would've had breakfast included. When we arrived at check-in that was reiterated and we were told we would need to pay $20 each for breakfast. That again was reiterated when we left. The other two places we stayed were not booked directly, and breakfast was included. It seemed petty, especially considering the price paid for the room. There was no coffee machine in the room, but were told there was a coffee machine in the building. That coffee was terrible. We tried the "pub" that was in the main lodge. The only thing that remotely fit the definition of "pub" was the bar. Wine was offered. The room looked like an activity room in a retirement facility.
