We only stayed for one night for a wedding but was greeted by a lovely lady who took me to our room. Grounds were being cut at the time and maintained lovely. Had to leave early the next morning so missed out on breakfast and didn’t get much time here but sept lovely. Very peaceful right by the big pond. Will come back again for a proper break and a book !

A very cold & disappointing stay
Checkin is between 2-5pm, we arrived after 4pm so we could enjoy our day as we were only staying one night. Arrived at the room and was very disappointed the view was of a field not lake. We also had to leave the room immediately and go to the local pub to stay warm, as no heating was put on for us in November, it felt like walking into a fridge upon arrival, considering we needed to check out by 10am, you’d think the room be semi warm so it’s at-least tolerable. We put the heating up, went to the pub and when we returned the room was too hot, we struggled all night to regulate the temperature so I slept terribly. There was not contact details to call reception and the desk is manned minimal hours so you couldn’t ask for assistance when we needed it. Overall the place was very clean, relatively peaceful despite this humming noise that lasted awhile after the flushing of the toilet I believe? Thought there could be a fridge in the room it was loud at times, but there wasn’t. I’d also recommend bringing entertainment as there is none in the room. Breakfast is a ‘light breakfast’, you are provided an orange juice, crossaint, mason jar of granola and a carton of soya milk. I actually paid slightly more for this room than other places, I thought it would be special to spend my Birthday night here, however on this occasion I should have stuck with the travel lodge. Only other positive was the shower pressure was good, and the temperature good.

It's a great retreat. The environment is quiet and chill,, rooms with good view on a grassland with cows & hares getting around. The only thing is the privacy,, since the glass of the window is not shaded and the people passed by could easily see through into your room when you are looking at the beautiful view.

Disappointed
Didn’t stay as when we were booking it we had the correct dates for September it then froze and when it un froze and came on to the payment screen we duly paid and did not realise it had changed the month back to August, we called them straight away to advise, but never got a call back. I managed to get hold of them but they refused to do anything about it even though the booking company said the would. They said they would have to pay a fee to the booking company which we offered to cover but they still refused our request.

A beautiful and peaceful place. There should be a mini bar for food and drinks at the retreat. The pub next door was fully booked for food for the day and there are no near by shops. We didn't have a car to drive somewhere else either.

Comfortable but remember it's a 'Retreat'
Lovely location, lovely room with the exception of a little bit of tiredness around the door area but overall a delightful room. The bed was a little too soft for me but that's just preference. I did miss not having a TV in the room but this is sold as a 'Retreat'. We were disappointed at the breakfast arrangement, which is a choice of vegetarian food that you have to choose the previous day and is delivered in a basket to your door. Ours was delivered by the next-door guests as it was taken to the wrong guests and whilst tasty it was far from ideal eating tepid food. There is a lovely pub/restaurant within walking distance.

Different- quite pretty
Booked purely to be near Canterbury and whitstable, so not to use spa, but we thought would be an added bonus to use once weary after a day out. We had to cut short our day at whitstable as check in only between 2-5pm..and we got a phone call at 4.30 to say we are closing in half hour, are you on your way! Annoyingly, we were! Once checked in, the surroundings are beautiful, pond and setting..great.i asked where the spa was, it was closed! Re opens next day, but as she was full to capacity, unlikely we would get in! ! It looked very nice from outside though!! Room was clean, nicely decorated, but guttering was broken outside bedroom window, so when it rained all night, made an awfully irritating noise..so not much sleep was had, left not feeling very relaxed the next day! ..I can see that this place is ideal if prebooked for a spa day / night well in advance, sure the spa is lovely, but check times beforehand, and personally don't think that it should be used just for general accommodation, as overpriced....

Good for short stays
Situated very remote but quite and green environment. No tv in the room, every day same breakfast existing out a pre-packed croissant, mango juice, some home made granola and some oat milk. Coffee is available in the room but does not get refilled once used. We stayed 2weeks, during that time the bed linen has not been changed and room is only cleaned once together with towels. Good for short stays…
