* Stay in a 118 year old updated house that is owned by the same family for over 55 years!
* Enjoy the OUTDOOR PATIO SPACE with table and chairs.
* NEWLY renovated 2nd floor bathroom.
* NEWLY renovated 3rd floor bathroom.
* The apartment is on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the house that is located in the quiet Frog Hollow neighborhood of Cape May. Please note, the house has always been elevated with a number of steps up to the 2nd floor apartment, and therefore may not be suited for those with mobility concerns.
* The beach is three blocks away and you can hear the waves especially at night.
* Beach chairs and a beach cart are supplied.
* The apartment sleeps up to eight people, has four bedrooms and two full bathrooms, sitting room and kitchen.
* The kitchen has been renovated and has stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops and beautiful new cabinets.
* The apartment is fully air conditioned with new AC units installed in each of the bedrooms and living room.
* Ceiling fans or tower fan are in bedrooms, and in the kitchen and living room.
* Comcast TV and Internet are available for your entertainment.
* A washer and dryer is on site for your convenience!
* The house is an easy 3 block walk to the beach, and you may take a short stroll down to the boardwalk or Washington Street Mall.
Cape May is an ideal place to bicycle. Bring your bike and ride to Sunset Beach or about town. You may store your bikes in the basement. Bird watch at Cape May Point State Park, a birder's paradise any time of the year.

Our house was built in the Frog Hollow neighborhood of Cape May by Jeremiah Mecray in 1907 and has been owned by our family since 1968. Recent upgrades include the outside patio, kitchen, 2nd floor bathroom, AC/heat units, washer/dryer, freshly painted rooms and exterior, new windows, new carpets, and rebuilt outside shower with changing area.
This restful, comfortable apartment has four bedrooms, two on the 2nd floor and two on the 3rd floor that sleep up to eight guests, two full baths, complete kitchen/dining room, living room with flat screen smart TV, DVD/VCR and free WiFi. A charcoal grill is available to use in the yard with our patio and seating. We have clotheslines to hang your beach towels and parking in the driveway for one vehicle, or free parking on the street. The entrance to the apartment is by a private side stairway off Jefferson Street.
Our family has been sharing the Cape May Vacation House with rental guests for over 50 years and every effort has been made towards our guests' comfort.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned apartment, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. There's a private patio. A Smart television and a DVD player are provided for your entertainment, while complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected. Conveniences include a phone, as well as a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.

Great visit!!

We had a wonderful time in this comfortable Cape May home. Location could not have been better-easy walk to beach and shopping area through a lovely residential neighborhood. It had everything needed for our family-beach chairs, well stocked cozy kitchen, beautiful patio, comfy bedrooms. The hosts were quick to communicate any time we had a question and were a pleasure to work with. Lots of stairs-so may not be appropriate for everyone.

We had the most wonderful week in this rental. The AC is amazing and kept the entire unit crisp and cool during the heat wave. Very clean, very responsive and kind hosts. Steps up to the unit are not as bad as some reviews state in my opinion, even for my older mother with knee problems. Perfect location close to the beach and town center. Beautiful outside area and a lot of parking! Thanks for a great week!

A Positive Historic Frog Hollow Vrbo Stay

This was our first Vrbo stay with family and everything worked out just fine. The house is very charming and we had plenty of room for all eight of us. The listing is accurate - there is a climb to get into the apartment, so you will get your steps in for the day when loading in and out. The kitchen/dining space was a bit tight when we all sat down to eat, but we cooperated and worked around that one item. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood was quiet, and the proximity to the beach was great (and it was a flat walk, only 3 blocks). About 5-6 blocks from the Washington Mall. We would recommend others consider this gem in our favorite vacation city.

Good location central to everything

We had a great family vacation at the property which was central to everything. As advertised, it is on the upper floors, so keep that in mind. a lot of stairs packing/unpacking the car if you have little kids that can't help much.

Well maintained home on quiet street

The entire process from start to finish was smooth, even received a couple of hand written notes from the property owner Wes which was very nice! The house was very clean and well-maintained. It’s 25 steps up from the street to the second floor so anybody with mobility issues may have a problem. Wes and Linda were on site most of the time and were friendly and accessible. It was great to have a washer and dryer in the basement although it’s a little tight getting down into the basement because you have to duck underneath steps and a low doorway but that’s probably not unusual for a home that’s 100 years old. The kitchen is well equipped and we found everything to be in working order throughout all the rooms. It’s about a three block walk to the beach and to the Washington St. Mall. The location is very quiet. There was always ample offstreet parking if you have multiple vehicles. The outdoor shower was certainly a nice feature for after the beach although it is a little tight.

Wonderful stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here! We had a little trouble with the AC when we first arrived, but figured out the issue and had no problems the rest of the week. The owner was very responsive. The place was very clean and the kitchen was absolutely beautiful and certainly suited our needs. We realized a gas grill might have been more efficient than the charcoal grill and an area to sit and eat outside would have been nice, but other than that, we had a really wonderful experience and would definitely consider coming back!!

Great Location! Cool House!

819 Benton is a great location for a Cape May vacation! The beach, strolling along Washington Steet Mall, restaurants, historic spots, bike rentals, ice cream, even the Acme supermarket are only a few minutes walk away. The house is a perfect blend of modern beach house and cool Cape May! We had a great week!

The rental process and communication was easy. Only issues were minor....the saloon style doors in the upstairs bedrooms didn't leave for much privacy. The tub in the upstairs bathroom drained very slowly. Overall though, we enjoyed the stay, location, and house. We'd rent from there again.

This home is in a wonderful location, short walk to the beach and shops by the boardwalk. Also a short walk to the Washington Mall. Wes was easy to get in touch with and quickly responded to any questions. We had a wonderful stay and loved the rental!

Great house for family stay

My extended family and I stayed at this property this summer. The house was great and overall clean and enjoyable. It was in the perfect location to walk many places in Cape May including the beach and outdoor mall. We were able to use the charcoal grill and had access to the basement to store all our beach gear. The one thing lacking was I wish there was a porch or outdoor seating areas for the evening after a day out. There is also only room to seat 6 adults in the kitchen even though the house sleeps 8. We made do though and would absolutely consider staying again.

Home away from home rental

Loved our stay, felt like home away from home. This is is a great house to rent, loved that we were able to open all the windows on days we didn’t need the air conditioning. It’s close to the beach and shops. Laundry , clothes line and outdoor shower were fabulous to have. Already booked for next Summer. The only thing for someone looking for complete privacy on the top floor , the two bedrooms have swinging shutter doors, which was not an issue for my family during our stay, we didn’t mind at all, but just know you cannot close a solid door in those two bedrooms. The downstairs two bedrooms do have closing doors though. Kitchen was up to date and had all the appliances and cookware and dishes we needed for the week, including a coffee pot. Also, Wes and his daughter Linda were quick with any email or communication back to us. Was a great pleasure renting from them.

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay at this property. It’s a short walk to the beach, close to the action too. The kitchen is updated and boasts lots of storage. Another plus is the outdoor shower. 1 parking spot is available in the driveway and there was always street parking in front of the house as well. The owners were easily accessible for a quick question.

My family of four recently rented this property. The location is perfect, so close to everything but nice and quiet as well. Having my two young teens with their own rooms and bathroom on the third floor was a great bonus for us! The kitchen was nicely equipped and check in and check out was a breeze. The owner is very responsive.
