We found the overall hotel experience (breakfast, pool, room) to be fine. We did struggle with the smell from the air conditioning unit to the point that we talked to the front desk to get help and went to the store to buy air fresheners for the room. They said they place tablets in the AC units to try to help with humidity but it was horrible!

Excellent stay for 3 nights! We were visiting Michigan's UP and stayed at Borders. The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was your standard fare and I really liked that they served it until 10 am. They also kept the pool and hot tub open late (until 2 am) with the later evening hours being adults only. The hotel is a little older, but they maintain it well. I did take 1 star off just because they did not have an elevator. We were on second floor and travel with a lot of stuff. My husband broke his wrist the day prior, so getting everything in the room was a pain and took several trips. To be fair, the desk guy did offer to help, but seeing as there was no one else in the office area I felt it would have been wrong to accept. Just be aware and make sure you ask for a first floor room if you have mobility issues. Overall a great stay for the price and we will stay again when in the area.

We returned to Boarder's on this trip to Munising because of the cleanliness, neatness, and the friendliness of the employees. Very nice complimentary breakfast in the morning, serving anything from toast, rolls, bagels, etc. to cereal to hot foods to fresh waffles. Nice pool and hot tub too. I'd stay there again on any future trips to the Munising area!

Quiet and Affordable
Nothing fancy but quiet location. Breakfast is nothing special but is convenient to grab a bite before heading out the door. We were surprised to find out that there is no elevator. If you have mobility issues ask for a main floor room.

This property is extremely well-kept and clean with a friendly, engaging staff. My room was quiet from activities of other guests. The only semi-complaint is not having an elevator, although I was informed about this during booking. It's difficult for those with limited abilities to carry luggage up/down the stairs. I enjoyed my stay and was very comfortable.

This is a pretty nice place. It's in a nice middle location in the UP, and the rooms are nice. The breakfast area needs to be expanded to accommodate the amount of guests, and the hotel could use some general updates (there's a definite "old hotel" smell in the hallways, but our room was fine). The office, cleaning, and other staff all were friendly and helpful. All in all, it was a good stay.

In general, it was clean and quiet. Easy access to local attractions. Only concern was that we were in a room on the second floor that was located above the designated smoking area outside and the smoke came in through the AC air intake into the room at times.
