The property and staff were great but my overall experience was bad because I payed extra for a corner room with living room and received a regular room. I should not have been given the option or been able to pay more, if what I payed for, was not fulfilled. I do business in Detroit several times a year and this experience has me considering mever returning to Shinola even though it is overall a really great hotel and has a great staff

We love our stays at Shinola; the great design of the hotel and the fantastic staff. This visit was marked by our encounter with the rudest most snarky and condescending hostess at the Speakeasy in Friday night 8/30. Her attitude and complete lack of professionalism detracted from an otherwise perfect stay. She's a discredit to the rest of the excellent staff
