Its a nice place but the service is terrible. I asked for coffee sachets last night and they gave me tea LOL This morning I have asked for the same and have called the reception several times but two hours gone and no coffee sachets yet!

When I got to the reception, I was not greeted at all and there were 3 recioptionists and nobody acknowledged me. They admitted a couple of other guests ahead of me and I waited for at least 7 minutes until someone came and greeted me. While helping me the receptionist was assisting other guests. I was socked as to why a Crowne Plaza hotel was so poorly managed. My room was dirty and I was extremely disappointed. The bathroom toilet bowl was dirty with drips of dried urine on the toilet bowl seat. There was an empty water bottle in the room from the previous guest. The drawer and tv stand was not wiped clean. The Deira area was also not a great area to stay in.

This is a hotel for SMOKERS! Hotel room smelled extremely smoky (cigarettes) particularly in the bathroom despite being on the ‘non smoking floor’.Third floor was a smoking floor and the smoke wafts up to the 4th floor (non smoking floor) easily. Really not impressive especially when there is allergy to cigarettes. Room for 2 people with only 1 bathrobe. Obviously the reservation was clearly made for 2 pax. No shower/hand gel in either container in bathroom!! (And no other soap options). No shower cap. Wifi hit and miss. Loading unloading at front door extremely difficult. When we checked out there were hotel guests, guests for an Indian wedding in the ballroom, 2 ambulances, 2 fire trucks, very few parking places in order to load cars with luggage. Not impressed with hotel layout at all. Will definitely NOT return.

The hotel location is very convenient to use public transportation and roam around the city. The Salah Al Din metro station on the Green Line is a few blocks away from the hotel. I stayed on October 2017 for the first time and now on August 2024. Its location was the key to stay for a second time there. But the hotel needs a lot of TLC care. I notice nothing had changed since. The decoration needs an improvement as well as the hallways and rooms carpet a good shampoo cleaning will do. The bathroom shower walls and under the sink are full of mold, somethings that makes one think twice before to use them. I requested the shampoo dispenser to be refilled three times, but it was never done. Eventhough, there is a sign of no smoking allowed in the room, but the room has a very strong cigarette smoking smell. Frontdesk attention was good at check in and out. Breakfast food. They have a nice variety for you to choose from. Bar service they serve alcohol. The bartender knows how to prepare good drinks , and the food was good as well.

I thought the overall experience was OK. The hotel is beginning to look tired. I sent some clothing off for laundry and when it was eventually delivered, a member of staff asked me to pay for the service in cash. When I explained I didn't have any cash on me, he asked me to check in my wallet. I have been travelling for over 40 years on business and have never been asked to pay cash for this type of service. The worst part of this story is I had to get out the shower to answer the door.
