It was our first time in Dubai. The Riu Dubai Hotel is located not far from the Gold Market; the area is not crowded, and we enjoyed our time there. The staff is great: friendly, knowledgeable, always ready to help and answer questions; Russian speaking staff is also available. The food is various, tasty and the choice is great; you can find what you prefer or to try something new. The “main restaurant’s” hours are 7:30am to 10:30 for breakfast; 12:30 to 15:30 for lunch and 18:30 to 21:00 for dinner; in between these hours, there are places to get “ snacks” which are a full meal just less varied but tasty. The main restaurant is very crowded and busy. Therefore, I would recommend to reserve one of two other restaurants if you want to eat more privately because they are only available by reservation and not crowded. The reservations must be done two days prior. Taxi are always available: 2 types the TAXI by the meters and the vehicles with NO “ taxi” sign ( they are more expensive). I recommend to get “ Taxi” taxi. What I do NOT like is the pool hours: all pools are open until 6 pm only !!!!!! We stayed in Riu for 8 days, and didn’t use the pool at all; every time we were coming back from the tours we booked, the pool was closed already . The bar at the pool was open, but no pool. This was very uncomfortable 😳

Great hotel with a fun but relaxed vibe. Feel the speciality restaurants could do with being al a carte. That said, the food in them was great. Main buffet food good but awful canteen like environment- same as everywhere I guess but just personally hate those big busy dining rooms- always chaotic. How they kept the food topped up, fresh and so varied was a credit to them. People say there’s no entertainment- there absolutely is, day and night. Standard not high, but daft and fun to watch. Always a nice atmosphere on a night. Very strange you can’t drink in the sports bar. 15 mins from airport and easy to get a taxi to the mall etc. fab place

The staff were awesome & housekeeping was prompt each day. The hotel should mirror some of the other RIU hotels with more daily activities & pool foam parties & make 1 of the pools adult only! Finger foods should also be available for hotel guests at least in 1 of the pool bars. It’s annoying to have to leave the pool or beach area to grab a quick bite back inside the hotel. Revamp the Asian restaurant & offer Hibachi instead.

Excellent hotel, staff and for us location too. Hotel - this was a great hotel in many aspects, very clean and accommodating, beds were very comfortable. Room had two twin beds, which wasn’t the best considering there was two adults, one child, but quickly resolved, and within minutes we had an extra bed in the room. All areas of the hotel were clean and cleaning staff were out at the crack of dawn making sure pools/pool areas were also clean. Was added bonus to have a mini water park onsite. Staff - everyone was extremely friendly, special thanks to Krishna during check in, so helpful and understanding, and did his best to check us in earlier. Acknowledged it was my daughter’s birthday during our stay and had arranged balloons and cake on the day. All staff were so polite and helpful, from the life guards (Suhail and Ganesh) to all the bar staff and house keeping. During meal times all waiters/waitresses were accommodating and never was there a time where they didn’t ask what we would like to drink. Food/drinks - huge selection of food during meal times, and there was a snack bar too. Food quality was pretty impressive given the large selection. Various cuisines to choose from and same for dessert options. Drinks were always available when we wanted, and beers went down fantastically especially in the heat, as did the piña colada and mojitos. Location - spot on. Not too close to the hustle and bustle but easy to get to. Would definitely visit again!

Everything is excellent about the hotel, other than the remote area it is located. You have to get a taxi to anywhere. With limited entertainment in the evening, you can’t go for a walk as there are just building sites around the hotel.

We cannot fault our holiday the Riu Hotel staff are excellent every member of staff greeted us with a friendly smile in every department The food was very good we especially enjoyed Spices restaurant The hotel is situated in a quiet area being developed but it was easy to get an Uber and travel into the city The beach was clean and sunbeds plentiful We would definitely return to this beautiful hotel

Second visit to the hotel and this time, probably won't visit again, far to busy and noisy and sun bed situation is out of handpatrons paying pool lifeguards to hold beds for 3/4s of the day isn't fair to other patrons. It's just really put us off going again. Other staff and facilties excellent. It's a real shame.

Food was great. Areas sorrounding the property was vacant. Long distant to travel to activities. No iron or wash cloth in rooms. Arrival and diparture needs work. Great location by ites own water front however music and entertainment was lacking.
