Stayed here for a week whilst at work. Although the decor is a bit dated, it is currently being upgraded and the rooms were spacious, comfortable and had the usual tea/coffee facilities. The shower room was modern and the shower was large although there was no hot water on my last morning. The rest of the time was fine though. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. It is right on a very regular bus route so very convenient. The biggest draw back was the WiFi was very intermittent but I have booked to go back again soon so overall satisfied.

Checking in and payment for breakfast was confusing as we got passed from person to person. Not being able to book breakfast through the Expedia website meant we missed out on the B&B package and they hadn't read my covering email about requiring breakfast.
On the plus side we had our cases carried to our room, the beds were comfortable and the food was gorgeous.
The room was comfortable and in good condition (though I hit my head on the slanted ceiling a couple of times). Shared bathroom across the hall was comfortable and didn't seem to have too much traffic. The reception area and hallways feel a bit dated. I arrived on the later side (around 8:30-8:45pm) and the restaurant was unfortunately closed by that point. There are very limited food options in the surrounding area (a couple of takeaways, none of which were very appealing). The hotel does have a pub (the only one in the neighborhood), which serves food at some hours (but not when I was there). The staff at the hotel and pub were friendly. I picked this place for its proximity to EDI airport as I had an overnight layover - it's about a 20 minute drive. Going to the hotel I took an Uber for about 25 GBP, but going back my only option was a taxi which was over 40 GBP for the 20-minute ride.
The rather dated appearance of the hotel from outside and in reception was completely belied by the warmth of the welcome, the standard of the room and bathroom facilities, the delicious meal and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. A great place to stay if joining a cruise sip at Rosyth.
We came up from Manchester to stay as our friend was having a party at the Gothenburg.
To be honest when we first arrived, we didn’t know what to expect! The front of the building and the entrance aren’t the greatest but the rest of the building and the people inside were fabulous!
We were greeted like friends!
We were shown to our room which was small but lovely!
The bedding was beautifully white, the room was spotless.
The staff were ALL friendly, helpful and welcoming!
The food was spot on, we had a meal in the bar, buffet at the party and breakfast in the restaurant!
I called the hotel a couple of times before and after our stay and the staff were brilliant and answered any questions we had!
We will be back and the Gothenburg will be our 1st choice of place to stay when visiting friends in fife again!
Thank you to all at the Gothenburg for a great stay!
We were using it a convenient base while visiting family for New Years Eve...staff warm and friendly and very helpful. comfy, clean rooms and we had the shared bathroom (v clean and good decor) to ourselves as the only people staying there. Exactly what we needed. Only had breakfast there each day but good, tasty and filling. Omelette defeated my fiancee as it was huge...
No frills with the staff making the difference :-). Good ease of access to get out and about too.
I had the best experience in The Gothenburgh Hotel. Needed to stay overnight near our office and a place to store my bicycle overnight. The staff was the most helpful and kind. I had the full attention of everyone working that night and I felt very welcome. I will definately be going back. The dinner was also excellent = had a cullen skink in a bread bowl - highly recommend! The room was beautifully prepared and clean. The same bathroom.

The Gottenburg Hotel, Rosyth
Hotel was generally nice and would recommend it. Didn't know that we had shared bathroom facilities with 2 other rooms, even though bathroom facilities were very good.
Also, had problems with TV reception.
The staff were friendly and very nice.

Good for an easy night stay
Friendly welcome, fast check in, clean room, shared bathroom as expected.
Arrived...got to room...found no bathroom. Laid on bed to rest and a load of people came in the hotel turned on loud music for line dancing lessons so had to turn up tv to drown out the horrendous music...WiFi didn't work so was moved to a room...this time with bathroom...the toilet was blocked...the hanging rail in the cheap wardrobe drop out and when u use the shower the tray fills up with water...on leaving there wasn't anyone on reception...then the computer wouldn't work...then the card machine wouldn't work....then they couldn't supply a vat receipt.. 2nd worse hotel experience I've had and I book 4 rooms a week!
