This hotel's main asset is that it's quite literally walking distance to the airport. (There's also a regular shuttle to the airport to save some steps.) It's clean and reasonable, the rooms, bar, and restaurant are decent. However, the rooms we had were dated. (I've heard some are updated -- ours wasn't.) We had to get a second room because the toilet wasn't functioning in the first. The heat wasn't working in that second room, so it was a bit chilly, but not enough for us to switch rooms again. Lacking a fridge or microwave isn't a deal breaker for us, but if it is for you, then you might want to look elsewhere. Also, instant coffee and a kettle is baseline. Three stars for property condition because two seems too low and I can't give 2.5. Really, for a mid-tier hotel, I'd expect a bit more. I might stay in one of the other hotels in the area next time.

Perfect as a base for trip to Edinburgh
The hotel is a great base for a few days in Edinburgh at a fraction of the cost of the city centre hotels. Excellent transport links into the city centre and a shuttle to the airport even though the airport is within walking distance. Big, comfortable room. No airport noise despite being so close. Big bar and great breakfast buffet.

Lovely airport hotel
The hotel staff were amazing. We got an upgrade when we checked in. The check in staff were lovely and very friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. Also quiet. Great for an overnight before an early flight. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Would definitely stay again.

Another good Hilton airport hotel
This hotel was very handy for the airport with efficient airport transportation! The staff were very friendly and helpful with one particular receptionist going above and beyond to make sure we were looked after! The bed was comfortable and the shower was very good! We had one issue with the window being faulty and draughty but a note was taken immediately to contact maintenance in order to get it fixed!

Easy check in. Comfortable clean and warm room. Handy free shuttle bus to the airport. Food reasonable but the wine is well overpriced. Would stay again but maybe eat elsewhere.

Convenient and Comfortable!
Usually have low expectations at hotels by airports but this one was surprisingly good. Clean and comfortable with nice restaurant area. So convenient to the rental car return and free shuttle to the airport or to the tram to downtown.

Great stay over the weekend
Excellent stay at DoubleTree. Good sized room, good breakfast options, good facilities (gym, pool, sauna and steam). Pool was a nice temperature and enjoyed the sauna and steam. Close to the airport (walking distance or can use the free shuttle) and close to the bus stop for journeys to the zoo and into the city centre.
