An absolute gem with a great private beach. Sonder has done an excellent job with its pricing structure, which I’ll elaborate on shortly. Overall, our room was clean, well-appointed, and offered a stunning view.
Check-in and Check-out
The process was smooth and straightforward. Although not digital, the staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The required valet service caught us a bit off guard at first—though, in fairness, it’s clearly noted on their website (I just don’t study hotel websites in-depth before a visit). That said, the valet ended up being a convenient feature and was surprisingly less expensive than typical valet services.
Pricing Structure
Some reviews mention surprise “resort fees” added in the restaurant, but this is standard practice for many hotels. What sets Sonder apart is their à la carte pricing approach. While it may initially feel like you’re being nickel-and-dimed, it actually allows for more flexibility and value. For instance, instead of inflating nightly rates to include amenities you may not use, you pay only for what you choose to enjoy.
A great example is the pool chairs. At most resorts, these are “free” but baked into much higher overall rates. Here, the nightly rate is significantly lower, and you pay a small fee if you want to use the chairs. Similarly, cleaning services are not automatically included but are available upon request at no additional cost.
