Employees untrained and unhelpful
There was nowhere to park or pull off to drop luggage. We called the front desk multiple times and were told “yeah this isn’t a good hotel for cars”. I was told to go through a bus gate and taxi only road by the front desk and was later told I will probably be expecting close to 200 pounds of tickets due to their instructions. They said to go to a car park which was well over a 10 minute walk away. On checkout after questioning (and the front desk and manager arguing about where you can and can’t drive and which hours) and after first being told I could park over 2 blocks away and haul my luggage, I was then told there’s an entrance to the car park through a very brief walk through the adjacent train station. OMG! After doing that walk 6 times already and twice with multiple bags of luggage, someone finally tells me. Even then it was like I had to beg and push the right buttons and give a code with the magic words to be told that critical information I should have been given by one of the 5 other people I had spoken to about parking. He also then gives me a discount card for the parking garage. This would have saved me 10 pounds the day before. Multiple people knew at check in that I had a car and was going to the car park. No one offered this. Of the 4 hotels I stayed in while in Scotland, this is the only one that did not send a welcome message prior and the one where I needed with parking instructions the most. Had a shower lock keeping water barely warm. Temp fluctuated
