The first hotel room had a loud dripping tap in the sink, a broken headboard on one of the beds and windows that would not stay open. It was a hot attic room with no air conditioning. After Reporting these problems, we were given another room.
We were unable to use the shower in the second room. The water went from hot to scolding, and there was no option to run cold water. We had to use the shower in the first room—not fun walking down a corridor!
Upon our return in the evening, we were informed it was fixed. It was not, and the deputy manager could not get it working correctly. We were told we couldn’t move rooms but would be given a key to another room in the morning to shower. The next day, when trying to enter the room, we discovered that the room was already occupied, not fun. We were offered a third room three days into our family holiday. All fixed? No, we weren’t given enough towels to shower, and the shower dripped like a waterfall after you stopped using it, drenching the room. This leads me to the final night of sleep. At 04:30 at night, I was awoken by the shower dripping/running, which meant my wife and I had to deal with it. After drying ourselves (and the room), we tried to get some sleep. In the morning we left.
Upon my return home, I sought compensation (not a full refund) for our holiday being more of a chore than a break. It was denied. The hotel has a strict no-refund policy. It is a shame they are not as rigorous regarding room standards.
