I have family in Scotland and travel there 2 or 3 times a year. My partner and i normally do it in one hit. 10 hours including stops. Decided to break the journey and spend a night in Tebay. What a great decision, Apart from breaking up the journey. We received a warm welcome, lovely spacious room. Had a frw relaxing drinks in the bar serving locally sourced beer and gins. Had a really nice dinner followed by a night cap and a great nights sleep. Brekkie was very nice also. Staff were excellent, polite, professional and warm. The location was beautiful with wonderful scenery. Will definitely be calling again next time i do this trip.
A one night stop on our journey from Scotland to Devon.
This is our stopover of choice due to its location and comfort.
Check in was friendly and efficient.
Our room was spacious and clean however the vinyl flooring took away previous cosiness and left it feeling cold and echoey. Please bring back carpet!
Bed was 6ft but sadly a complete mattress instead of zip link which meant any movement from a partner could be felt. Bedding was soft and clean with plump duvet and pillows.
The bathroom can always feel chilly and despite having a towel radiator this never came on during our stay. The plumbing also needed some attention as the toilet would make a rather loud, strange noise after the cistern refilled.
In room tea and coffee are always well stocked and accompanied by delicious handmade biscuits. The 2 bottles of water (1 still, 1 sparkling) are a welcome additional touch.
We used the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. There is a great choice and the quality of the food never disappoints.
There is ample free car parking on site and 6 EV chargers. These are pricey at 64p per kWh and are slow but with the assumption cars will charge overnight and also stops people from services next door from using them.
Overall another good stay and expect we will return on our next trip to Scotland.
Very good stay. Dog friendly and they are well catered for. Bowls in room, towels & treats by the main door. Food here is very good & is locally sourced. Staff attentive & friendly
Easy to access from motorway. Nice views and grounds from the room across moorland to the hills. Hotel was very clean and modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Would be very happy to stay there again.
Stayed here several times on our way to, or home from Scotland, with our dog. Never had a bad stay. Staff fall over themselves to be friendly and helpful and food is great quality.
The location is great, we walked out from the hotel into the beautiful rolling countryside where there are abundant footpaths and lovely views. We ate in the restaurant that evening and the food was really excellent and the service friendly and good.
Wonderful views and the feeling of being in The Lakes.
Good spaces for walking the dog.
Rooms are spacious and dog friendly with the inevitable trace of dog hairs on the divan bed. I stayed at this place on my way to Buttermere. It allowed an early start on quiet roads and was cheaper than staying in any of the towns en route.
I did not eat in the hotel but the nearby services have hot breakfast rolls and good coffe.
