Liked: Staff & service, amenities
Pleasant easy atmosphere, but as we were only there one night in middle of winter. can’t really give a fair review
Welcome, and the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Staff weren't around for breakfast at the booked time, so sadly it meant my schedule wouldn't allow for a cooked breakfast
Other than that, a good hotel stay
The carpark, sign and steps to reception were unlit and in total darkness. The whole place is tired and dated. The room was painted in dark, depressing colours { bottle green, even the ceiling!] Difficult to see anything. Bed was reasonably comfortable and decent tv. Coffee machine didn't work
Bathroom sink was badly cracked, the outside part of the sink and mirror frame looked like they hadn't been wiped down in ages. Old electric shower over the bath that had low pressure and changing temperature.
Breakfast was basic with limited choice. Coffee was dreadful!!!!
This is the third year we have stayed to celebrate an AGM. Frankly we were very disorganised re. Numbers. But the Pilgrim were amazing accommodating 40/45 people all very last minute, the food was totally amazing bearing in mind there were so many different variables for a three course meal coming of their table D’hote menu. All delivered in flustered and with smiles on faces. The kitchen staff must have been frantic but boy did they deliver.
Thank you again and see you all on December 1st 2025.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Very dated and tired. Needs an overhaul from top to bottom. Very basic room in poor condition.
Friendly staff and great views. We had a meal in the restaurant which was really nice and good quality.
A little tired in places but felt cosy and welcoming throughout
Our room was the upgrade and had great views over the valley
Only downside was the room wasn't that clean and hadn't been dusted for quite some time, just needs a good clean and keeping up with, maybe management need to check on standards
We stayed at The Pilgrim Hotel, for a weekend break. Check in was easy and made welcome by friendly staff. We ate in the restaurant every night and the food was amazing, and served with a smile.
Very comfortable stay.
Rooms of a good size and cleanliness.
Staff polite and helpful.
Restaurant food good and reasonably priced.
Good location for Wye Valley.
Nathan greeted us at reception. He was so welcoming, great 1st impression. We had a meal in the pub , which was delicious (possibly the best lasagne Ive ever had). Bedroom lovely number 9, very country like, comfy bed and pillows. Bathroom decor, perhaps a little dated, but all very clean and tidy. The views across the valley are stunning 😍
About the only hotel I have fixed on my list. As a regular traveller I am in towns and areas repeatedly. The pilgrim is where I always stay in Hereford. Excellent food, comfortable rooms, friendly staff good bar. What else is there?
