When we arrived, the room wasn’t available so they put us in another hotel for one night. This hotel turned out to be a dump and was probably the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay in.
When we returned the following day, our room still wasn’t available and we were told to return in an hour. This we did only to find it still wasn’t ready. We went away and returned again after another 90 minutes to find the room still wasn’t ready. This time I went to see the room only to find a guy in there with a paint roller putting emulsion on the walls.
The guy on reception honestly thought it would be fine if after the painter had finished, we moved straight in. I corrected him on this misapprehension and informed him that I didn’t want to spend my holiday breathing in the smell of fresh paint.
The chap on reception was barely able to speak English and so in the end, I had to contact Expedia to get them to arrange an alternative hotel. To be fair to Expedia, they did manage to sort things pretty quickly and found a better hotel a short distance away which we accepted.
So in summary, I would not recommend Esra Sultan Petrol Hotel.
When we get into hotel no one at the reception have to stay at reception for more than 2 hours then one guy came in and said your room got prob so we have to move u to other hotel..we really struggled alot..will not recommend anyone.need compensation
its not for human beings, you should stop working with them

I am allergic to bed bug bites. After reading a number of reviews referring to bedbugs in the rooms we did not check into this hotel. Could not risk it. We therefore abandoned this booking.
We booked a room for a night only. Reception was fast friendly and helpful. Location is superb, located in front of sultanahmet tram station. Lift available. However room was terrible. Airconditioner not functioning, broken and no aircond remote provided. Floor is sticky kinda like oily texture. Beds, pillows and sheet are dirty. Beds terrible condition with plywood sticking out from the bed. Toilet is very dirty. Shower leaking, and the hotel only apply celotape to cover the leak but it's not helpful at all. Molded pipe. Toilet door not good. My friend trapped inside the toilet. The most terrible stay I've ever been to.
Hotel wasn't good,Stairs got bits missing,room had no latch on window,dodgy extension wire,BED BUGS!!,old bed and mattress,no coat hangers,shower head leaking.
Only Positive is the position of hotel,which is opposite Sultanahmet Tram Stop and the Mosque
Lock didn't work to our room. They said not to worry but had to insist we get a room with a lock. They changed the locks for us which was great. However the room we found to be crawling. Roches in the bathroom and little bugs in the bed
