Very good

Lovely spot close to Duval Street and all the options available in the surrounding area. Very walkable - it was a straight shot to the waterfront and the ferries. Lovely rooms, well kept. Be aware that this is a historic home. As such, there are no elevators. If you book a room on the second floor, you will carry suitcases up the stairs.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
This trip was a bust. There is no staff on site so no one greets you and no one welcomes you. You call a phone number and get text messages to get into your room. Parking is extremely difficult due to very limited space. Then they took over a nice parking area to put cafe tables and chairs and no one sits in them. Ridiculous. It was very cold outside when we were there. The heater in our room blew cold air no matter what it was set to and you could not shut it off. There were two sheet-weight linens on the bed but no blanket. We froze all night. But the worst of it was we had no hot water in the bathroom. That meant no showers. They told us to let the water run for 3 minutes to get hot water. What we got was room temperature water. The whole experience was awful. It cost $305 a night for this joke of a hotel. A corporation bought it a year ago and the way they do business has changed to make them the most money possible. No staff, no heat, no hot water, no blankets, no housekeeping, NO SERVICE. A stay at a Motel 6 will bring you more amenities than this overpriced, joke of a hotel. Never again will I stay at a Curry Mansion. Oh, and they have not changed the website to say there is no breakfast with the room. Don't waste your money because you'd do better sleeping in your car!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
We stayed for 3 nights beginning 12/5 and overall had a very good experience. While initially having a bit of difficulty with the on-site parking, a young man doing some painting maintenance helped us to park in the back lot even going as far as to move his own vehicle so we could unload our car and by the time we had done so, a space opened up where we were able to leave the car for the weekend. The Mansion is a beautiful property that is feeling a little tired but overall we were very comfortable there. We rented a king suite in the rear of the building. The room was clean with plenty of towels. AC worked great. TV only had one channel but we weren’t in Key West to watch TV. The pool area was nice though we didn’t use it. The front porch was lovely for morning coffee. The hotel has coffee and some food items for hefty prices so I would go to Ana’s Cuban Café around the corner in the morning for con lèche and breakfast sandwiches. The location can’t be beat as far as walkability to everything. But with that comes loud music and the occasional intoxicated people walking by at 3am yelling loudly. I was prepared for this so it was not a huge problem for me. So overall this was a positive experience for us as we loved being in the middle of all the Key West action.

We were excited to stay at this location however our room accommodations were not what the photos shown. Our room was in the detached pool house so we lost the ambience of staying in the “mansion”. Our room also had a dirty refrigerator and a toilet that was temperamental. For the beauty of the mansion and where our room was we felt shortchanged.

This place was worse than a Motel 6. I realize it has been bought out in the past year, and that it was a haven for many before the buyout. Don’t believe the reviews as they are using the old reviews as their own. I made this terrible mistake. They did have a lovely front porch where all the guests convened to complain. NO ONE on staff to greet or help with anything. NO BREAKFAST as posted in the reviews. NO hot water in some rooms. NO heat or blankets and it was December. NO ONE freshened our room or brought clean towels the whole four nights we stayed. They don’t even put Kleenex in the rooms! Just a trickle of water in my shower. The new owners took away part of the previous parking area and guests had to pay $50 a day to park on the streets. Guests who have returned yearly vowed NEVER to return. I paid over $1000 for my room because of a 9.0 rating and great reviews from long ago. Don’t make the same mistake we did!
Washer doesn’t work very well, no microwave, no coffee machine in room, no complimentary breakfast. Not enough shelf space to put the shampoo and conditioner. No water provided, fridge was leaking. List is endless. Bottom line is this was a rip off. High prices but low quality
No person on site, self checkin. Cable didnt work most of the time. Sporadic wifi. Impossible to get a hold of anyone to complain. Have to call some service to try and get wifi password. Bed was awful. Great location with parking included.
Location is great. Cute little pool. Nice bathrooms ( although vent fans are needed)
Check in was convenient

We weren’t very pleased with our experience. We ended up checking out early. TV never worked for us, bed was very uncomfortable and old, room was very moist and musty, carpet seemed dirty, I know it is a historic Inn, but it would still be nice to have things working properly, clean, updated and not broken. You could see outside through the cracks of the door, lots of water stains and damage. I love the concept, but would appreciate things brought up a notch. Also, there is limited staff. Only housekeeping and a chef. No Inn workers to physically talk too or see. The whole experience was weird.
No entry code provided to enter the room. We had to leave and find a new hotel at 11pm with a 2 year old child, after traveling 4hours by car.
None of the numbers listed in the email responded.
Check in at 4pm is ridiculous! There’s only 20 (very) old rooms. The room condition was terrible. The main door to the room had so much wood rought on the inside it was hideous. The TV barely worked. No microwave. The small refrigerator had to be 20 years old. The 2970s green carpet was terrible: was afraid I’d catch something. For $360 per night, the room is overdue for many.
The only decent part was the location. Rest was terrible. Should be no higher than $49.95.
The property is beautiful other than the pool (could use some TLC). I was able to check in early which was a major help!! Excellent location!! Could use more options to park but I was able to find a spot and grateful for it!

This is a beautiful old mansion but there are some issues. First, don’t expect any sleep. The convenience of being on Caroline one block off Duval comes with a severe price. Bass and loud music will be playing to as late as 3:00 AM with no option for relief. Web site claims a heated pool, but it is not. The TV’s did t work for multiple guests and there is not on-site staff. They do respond to texts but TV’s were not working when we left. Some guest indicated that they had been referred by previous guest based on many more amenities that had been available with previous owners and are no longer available. The only services on site are over priced drinks and a breakfast. It says something when you can walk a block to a bar and get drinks for half price. Room was very average. Electrical receptacles won’t hold a plug without it falling out. Price for the room was astronomical which I can lay on the fact that it was a very high demand weekend but for the cost, I was expecting way more. I would definitely check out other options before I come back.
Great place to stay if you want to be in the heart of Key West but don’t want to fight the crowds and noise.

Tired but comfortable!
Nice, centrally located hotel near Mallory Square and Duval Street. Handy for the main tourist attractions!
A little impersonal with no one to meet you! The property is a little tired and could do with a spruce up! Generally though, we enjoyed our stay! Didn’t realise we arrived in the middle of Fantasy Fest!!!! Beware the events and sights you’ll see if you land in Key West towards the end of October!!!!
This property and our stay was amazing. Right of Duval street, close to everything, honestly the location is everything. Room was clean and comfortable, great for families. Only downside- the parking situation (very limited) but we managed this time, parking is not guaranteed inside the property. I wonder about high season though, could be tough
Room was a good size and very clean. Location was excellent. Only issue we had was no coffee maker. Since we were at the James House location, had to walk out together coffee in the mornings. Not major issue, but a Keurig in the kitchen area would have helped. Would stay here again!
Location is great close to Duval street ( however noise at night) walk to shops and restaurants; the mansion have seen better days, how can someone run a hotel without any staff?carpet in the room is horrendous has lots of stains that make it look so dirty,I had to call twice to management to ask for clean towels,no one at the location to talk within.
We stayed here for a night and were not disappointed. This hotel is centrally located, just one block from Duval street. We loved the decor, the rooms were spacious, ours had a balcony which was perfect for our morning coffee. The only negative comment I would have is the parking. There was no place to park, and we ended up paying $40 for less than 24 hours. Aside from that I totally recommend this place.
