I felt that the standard I expect from a Westin was below expectations. My biggest complaint was the condition of the common areas. The hallway floors were dirty/dingy and appeared as it they hadn't been vacuumed in days. The drywall had been repaired and had not been painted/finished off. The elevators were slow and one wasn't working. The soap dish in the shower was loose and barely hanging onto the wall, while the magnification mirror light was not bright. The desk phone was unplugged and once plugged in, was still inoperable. Considering the reputation of Westin Hotels & Resorts being an upscale hotel chain owned by Marriott International, I was very disappointed with the condition of the property. Based on my experience I would not recommend the Westin Tampa Bay.
